Good to see you back at it again. I see you have retired the 4500 and 14” elite. How far ahead on a percentage scale would the 6000 be compared to the 45. Cheers Greg

Greg, it's very hard to tell, the 4500 found all the big stuff and the 6000 finds a lot more tiny bits. We averaged 500g per trip with the 4500 and so far the 6000 has not done better than 200g. Perhaps the gold has gone?

Hi. Same problem with PI in areas where a lot of iron hot rocks exist. My SDC2300 was screaming, couldnt use it. Surprisingly the Gold Monster 1000 in discrimination mode can see those hot rocks, show the sign towards iron but not making any sound. I was able to detect with a VLF.

Yeah, sorry Taz... Late last year Taz sustained a serious injury. He was playing up at the time, crawled onto the stove and was a victim of the wrong hotplate selected. He's pretty much cured but we couldn't risk an overseas trip so close afterwards.

I've never done it, the renovation thing. Well I have bought a few old houses and splashed a bit of paint on, laid a few rolls of wallpaper and built a couple of kitchens but nothing like this. We really hope a good clean up will make it look a little less daunting.

Be better off buying a block and putting a transportable on. That would be a bottomless pit of expenditure. Not to mention the time. At my age, and it’s not 70 yet. I would want less work not more. Mind you, that’s just me. I am not you and it might look different though your eyes. After renovating two homes now. It’s a no from me😁

Hi Phil, might be best to try the 14" DD coil in that ground, it's a fantastic under rated coil and should handle those rocks better than the mono.
@goldfools5445
@goldfools5445 Жыл бұрын
Yes, correct. I have put it on when the hot rocks are a bit noisy. Still sensitive to small targets and will ping deeper bigger targets. Will top out about 10” on a 5g where the 11” mono will punch a bit deeper. Mind you we are in Leonora, that ground shown might be more difficult to balance on. I know I can get mine to run dead silent on the laterite and basalt. I bit noisy on the magnetite iron stone. I wonder if the 6000 in this clip has a problem. It has been an issue on the early machines. Although I have spent a fair bit of time with two of them without issue.
@moneybox5733
@moneybox5733 Жыл бұрын
@@goldfools5445 Yes the DD does make a diference on bad ground but these ironstone rocks give such a sharp signal there seems to be no fix for it on the 6000. This is my new 6000 supplied by Minelab under warranty recently. The old machine was trouble from day one but I put up with it for nearly tow years but after one repair and four coil failures Minelab replaced the whole unit and this is a much better detector.
@moneybox5733
@moneybox5733 Жыл бұрын
When on the patch at Naneen we had two 6000's and tried both coils. The GPZ7000 and GPX4500 ran reasonably well over the same ground where the 6000 couldn't be used.

This is vacant crown land so we're limited in what we can use. I'm sure dynamite would be frowned upon but I do need to take another look at it. Perhaps a big coil on the GPX4500 might turn up something.

Mate, you must give up that name, it's holding you back 😁. Yes I've very fortunate to have a permanent fossicking/prospecting partner. It makes treks into far off destinations much easier and therefore the chance of finding treasure is much more likely.

Thank you Robert. The biggest problem is the location where we like. We're in Cue WA so if I need something our best resource is the local tip where stock levels of useful items varies considerably. Freight is either very expensive or awfully slow. I ordered a new LG computer from LG in Sydney on 28th February. It was sent via DHL but is still floating about somewhere. I'll use locally available items when possible.

We know the dryblower doesn't get a lot of the very fine gold but of course we don't know how much is really there. My dryblower output is already screened down to 7mm so I'm hoping to set something up to screen all those piles down to 3mm and then pass all that dust through the Knudson and hopefully collect the flower gold that we've missed. The problem is water supply.
