I went to a store over the past weekend called “The Gamemaster’s Realm”, owned by a guy who dubbed himself The Gamemaster. In his eyes, the original Xbox is one of, if not the best console ever created because of how technically impressive it was at the time. He also said there no were good game consoles after the 360. Now I never had an original Xbox, was a kid during the 360 days and yeah that era had tons of incredible games. But any attempt I made to explain why I liked playing both a variety of old and new stuff on PS5 / Switch myself was shut down immediately. Huge difference between having a conversation on the topic, and somebody being on a soapbox

As of 2024 there are 650+ million registered players on fortnite. There are 185 million playing Minecraft. The gaming industry is not in a good place.

I don't think PC will ever be the thing everyone uses. I like consoles because they just work. PCs are expensive or you have to build one. Not everyone wants to do all that.

Pc is the worst plarform for gaming and game development. There is a reason why all pc ports are broken.

I simply don't care about Xbox like that. It's not a big deal. If people aren't buying the games overall, the company would be dumb to not put them elsewhere especially after it went well for them. I'll probably never purchase an Xbox but if they have a cool game I might like which is unlikely at this point, I'll check it out on my Nintendo console.

I think that exclusives are cool and all but some people just want a console that plays games. If it plays Fortnite, Minecraft, Call of Duty, etc.
