Beautiful plate. It does qualify as a plate. One surprise is that I keep feeling some of these are ALL my favorite piece! I guess 'my favorite piece' has to become a category. So far there are about 6 of your pieces that share that category together, and I like each one of them as much as the others but differently. Maybe art is just that way. Hi Phil. After some quick research this is what I found: The Kentucky Coffeetree is a member of the legume family. It creates bean pods, inside of which are hard bean like seeds which when consumed raw are toxic. They can be roasted at 65C (150F) for 3hrs to neutralize the toxic alkaloid. When steeped it produces a dark colored, rich tasting often bitter drink that is 'like' coffee, though it contains no caffeine.

You had me curious, so I had to check. The Black locust tree is also in the legume family! It also creates bean pods! I sprouted about 30 seeds about a month ago, and all of them came up! They're about 3-4" tall now!

Haha, gotta leave'em guessing, buddy! No big secret and now I hope I can pull it off! Feel like I'm running out of good time but, I'll get it done, I just know it! It is good that this piece worked out, I had my doubts when I walked away from the bandsaw. You should have seen the bend in that blade and then what happened when it cleared the wood! It was so scary I deleted the video, didn't want to see that again! 😊
@ThePapa19472 жыл бұрын
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop I would delete it up as well. Not fun when he a band saw blade decides to cut a vertical radius and not only doesn't ask but it won't even let you choose the radius. But you should it whose boss!
@ThePapa19472 жыл бұрын
Well you hang in there and do what you can do and when you can do it. Yes there can be a lot of adrenaline around a band saw. We had a 36 inch band saw at work that would cut 18" thick. When the blade broke on that one the whole shop would duck under their benches LOL. I never had one break but saw and heard it a few times. Dang that is work talk and I gave that up 10 years ago. But for some reason I had a dream about work last night. Somehow they talked me into coming back....dang that was scary!!!

I always enjoy not only seeing your creations but how you adapt to what you are turning as you progress and you sharing information on lathe speed, tool being use, and of course, "mask and face shield on".

Phil, this may give you a chuckle, when you ask questions I find myself answering them! You don't always listen but most times you hear me. LOL This is an absolutely gorgeous dish. I love the bark and year rings inside! You do amazing work my friend! Dotty ❤😎🙃 I do hope that you are feeling well and you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for all you do!
