That was awesome. You really put your back into this project. Different solutions for the corn. Two different mills. Jimmy is a beast. I asked my homebrew shop to mill some dried corn for me and it didn't work either. And, they have a pretty big mill. I can't believe how much you've stepped up your equipment. Thanks for the video.

I have found with corn if you don’t soak it before cooking you are leaving a lot of unused starch behind. Love the corn tube invention. Save the crooked ones for the ol lady. Shine on brother

Great video 👍👍. I did my 1st Mash with Malted Barley. 8lbs Cracked Corn 3.5 Barley 7.5 gal water Yeast My SG which SUPRISED the Hell out of me was .020, i added 8 lbs Suger = .060. This fermented down to .010 in 3 days, i thought my ferment stopped, it just slowed down. Total time today =6 days ill check Gravity. Usually my Mash with just Cracked Corn and Sugar takes 2 + weeks. That Barley is amazing! So, when i run this, technically im not running a Corn Flavored Sugar Wash since i used Barley? Update, day 6-Gravity .10 from .060. 3 days to .10 after 6 days the same Gravity .10 Im gonna run it. Day 3 i did put a bit more yeast to see if it jump start it, i believe this as liw as im gonna get. Tastes bitter as Hell 😂😂

I understand the preference for barely, but why not malt your corn? They both make both kinds of starch degrading amylases, so is it for finished flavor sake, or something else??

Do you distill on the grain? If not do you have any good tips for clearing the mash? Brew bags suck.

I do distill on the grain and all i use anymore is a pond pump ran through a metal screen straight in to my pot. I have no issues. I have not used a brew bag in years.

Did your still pot come with that drain on it or did you have to add that? Looking at the ones on Amazon it's hard to tell if they have a drain or not.

Just made some the other day just regular corn but used malted chocolate rye put some of the mash in my thumper and tossed some chocolate rye in also it came out great.got a 3 gal mighty mini. Did 8lbs corn 3 lbs chocolate rye added 4lbs brown sugar to get the gravity up it's the shit

You better check the instructions. That looks like the dry only mill. There is another that looks like that mill but has a different motor color that does wet an dry grain. It's 50$ more than that one.

That grinder looks almost as bad as mine. The cover smashed my bolts were bent in electrical cover. Whatever you do don't put any liquid in it, it will fuck it up. You do what you want I warned you. Shine on
