What strikes me about this song, make that GREAT song is that he created a beautiful arrangement and performance from just a few chords and they are so well placed and played. The chorus is all about power (not to mention the musical hook) while the verses drop way down and deliver a story. Just love this song!!!

I read that when he had a bunch of his performances transferred from VHS to DVD he acknowledged "God, I'm annoying.' I appeared to be very cocky, and really I wasn't." Of course, everyone likes to take a shot at the winners on top. Just look at guys like Aaron Rodgers or Michael Jackson. Phil was undoubtedly at the top of the charts for much of the 80s, and one of the most prolific songwriters of our time. And the awards that have been heaped upon him prove it. I was fortunate to score a ticket outside the old Philadelphia Spectrum to see him on the "No Jacket Required" tour. One of the most entertaining shows I've ever attended. I'm willing to bet that when he's gone, the world will morn the loss. Greatly.

One of his best songs ever. A gem. Hidden in an unlucky album, musically speaking, as far as I'm concerned (apart from this one, 'Long Long Way to Go" and "We Said Hello Goodbye").
