Great. Beautifully played. I love the movie and the music. We also performed Glass's Toltec symphony with the university coir once, which was great - the once in a lifetime chance.

Great performance! Personally, I'm not a fan of representing the choir on the organ: it sounds alright, but I don't think it is worth the sacrifice of not playing the second keyboard voice all the time. When I learn this piece myself, I'll just sing it. ;)
@viktorrietveld3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the choir should have been sung, then again, not many can do that.
@6073 жыл бұрын
@@viktorrietveld True. Judging by the appearance of the performer, though, I would not be surprised if he can comfortably reach the right note.

I disagree, I enjoyed that a lot, it added something, idk what, but it was good experience for me.
@6073 жыл бұрын
@@SeltiaLoL It does sound good, but the removal of the second keyboard voice is too jarring for me. I have since played this piece on church organ myself, and it was a lot more difficult than I anticipated. All voices are simple, but they are so independent that I found it hard to coordinate them together, as a relatively inexperienced organist.

It’s good but it would be better if you layered the parts instead of pausing the 2nd manual each time you play the 8’ trumpet. Or perhaps do a duo with another person.

Were the organ keys white or black? 🤯🤯🤯
@restjbo Жыл бұрын
On this organ they are switched, compared to the piano. There is no standard regarding which keys are black or white. This varies from Organ to Organ.

To me beautiful and to most organists....but this being played to a church full of regular church goers, it is boring and nothing but noise. Oh Lord I am not Worthy would have been mukch more loved. Our Bilshop....Dallas diocese ...been saying Mass aat noon via local TV station. Frankly I been tuning in jukst to hear the organ...but ney, ney. He has a piano and some other tinkling cymbal playing.
@absurdengineering9 ай бұрын
Is there a regular church goer? Don’t we each have our own aesthetic preferences? How will we expand our musical horizons if we never listen to new pieces? Do you seriously think that no one out there who never heard Glass could enjoy this piece? You’re putting a lot of people into a very little box I’m afraid. I don’t think they deserve that.
