I plowed cotton on my grandfather's farm near Lubbock, TX. with 1086, loved it. Had a TA. It was great. I was an IH salesman in Atlanta TX. after I graduated from college in 1981, it was a sad day when Tenneco bought them out.

Your right. I hated seeing all those plants close, it's still not IH. I call them Case IH. Most people call them just Case. I wonder how many Case parts were used on Case IH tractors?

My dad has a 1086 he bought new still have it won’t go anywhere it’s a 81 quick way to look for later one such as 81s look at the rear axle housing the late ones are smooth the earlier ones have notches for rear fenders. Also the exhaust is bigger and on the left side by the oil pan there another hydraulic screw on filter. Can’t go by the paint and tri strip decals because we also had a 79 1486 we had painted as a 81 because we liked the looks of the tri strip decals and the front side panels red instead of white lol

I know had hard time get parts at International in 1990's when get tractors and combine fix up he go to old International dealership over Case ones! Even I know myself too get for them to but John Deere Dealership near homestead no problem even looking for John Deere tractor A old or new too ! But I know lots farmers in my area love John Deere plus New International in Maximum one too big hp too!

Those wheel centers are most likely replaced with different ones because they have the clamp on dual rings. Those clamp centers weren't strong enough for that. Wedge locks were ok in that situation but axle mount were best.

When you're eyeing that kick baler ... we found they tended to bend the bales all up for a less than retail appearance. We'd either trail a wagon or drop and pickup. That was when I was a kid. Since then I've seen the various accumulators, grapple loaders, true 'pick up' wagons and those new holland auto-stacker trucks. That would have changed haying in the ninety-five degree heat.

I have an 886 with the D360 which I rebuilt. That is a great engine. That engine has the water filter which is good which helps reduce cylinder liner corrosion. I could not tell but where are the doors, side and rear windows or is it not an enclosed cab? I installed the chrome shifters from Hi capacity for mine when they just came out and did not really help much as they are still in the way getting in and out. You can get new dash decals which I just bought for mine and other trim pieces if you want to dress it up. I expect that tractor will bring over 10k.

@@FarmallFanatic Mine is an early 886 S/N 10811 which is a 1977 year which came with the D360. It was rebuilt in the early 1980's then I rebuilt it in 2014 due to a Antifreeze leak through one cylinder liner o-ring grooves as a result of cavitation corrosion. It has full cab, A/C. I have a 986 that a turbo was added before I got it. It depends on the motor and if fuel pump is turned up. A stock 986 is a non turbo 436 at 90 hp. A 1086 is a turboed 414 at 103 hp A 1486 is a turboed 436 at 130 hp. I do know if it's had a turbo added they better have also updated the clutch to the 14 inch one found in the 1486.
