As much as the film Heneral Luna tries so hard to make it look like it's their fault for being not-patriotic, forcing someone to fight for something that hasn't even established itself enough would naturally lead to this. 3.-4. Japan sending weapons won't change anything either, and what the US did wasn't "coercion" when Japan willfully signed the agreement in exchange for the US recognizing their claims in Korea. Bonus: If we did somehow win against the US we would be unstable enough for Japan to just backstab us and plant a puppet in our government.

I don't think Americans and Filipinos fought in ranks and column during that time. It's been 20th Century. Filipino used already Mauser bolt action rifles and hikanura while Americans used remington repeating riffles. Those kind of warfare was done during 17th to 18 th century.

Kailangan maging malakas yung Philippine Revolutionary Army. Kailangan magin improvised and mag-adapt ng mga armas nila. There's nothing written on captured American weapons like the fast fire rate but slow reload Krag Jorgensen Rifles and etc... that the Pilipinos will going to run out of ammo or needed stronger, faster and more weapons to hold the line much longer and to attack the enemy without waiting for more supplies after scavenging it. Also The Philippine Army needed to use bow and arrow within this timeline where modern day armor(modern bulletproof armor) is not invented yet and traditional armor like the hussars are wearing are unsuitable to this era that most US Army during that time are unarmored which mean they are weakened by arrow fire. But don't forget about the traps like the Viet Cong does to but time and to cause physical and psychological effects to the enemy.
