Bathala word po is from India. It is from Sanskrit word "Bhattara" or "Shiva" meaning Lord or God. Tulad rin po ng salitang Diwata, sa Sanskrit rin sa India galing na Devatā meaning Diyosa or Goddess in English.

I wonder if some folk healers still call unto Tagalog deities.
@Letitallhangout8 ай бұрын
I call unto some of them in my nightly prayers and occasional rituals.

They still do, under hispanized name e.g. Infinito Dios, Infinita Dios (Dios Ina - God the Mother), Atardar, Waksim, etc.

I am still praying to Apung Guinu. I do not pray to Ama,Father ,Jehova or Allah. Before eating ,I give thanks to Apung Guinu. Before I go to sleep, I pray to Apung Guinu. I'm very proud that I am communicating with Apung Guinu,or in Tagalog, Apong Ginoo. I'm a Kapampangan. I don't use Jesus Christ ,Virgin Mary or other European saints for intercession . I will pray to Apung Guinu until I die.

Nakakalungkot talaga. Ang lawak at makulay ang mitolohiya, at kultura ng mga sinaunang pinoy. Lagi kong pinagiisipan ang mga nawala natin dahil sa kolonyalismo 😢

This is crazy because like most of other religions there is the theme of after life, judgement of soul, heaven and hell. Why did we need Spanish civilization to basically come and spread their belief when we already had a similar belief story. Shit is just crazy. Everything basically roots to the same origin story.
