People go to Mindanao because most of it is safe and it's a big place. Most northern Filipinos are less knowledgeable about Mindanao than foreigners are. Saying don't go to Mindanao is like saying don't go to California because of the crime in South Central LA. The East coast of Mindanao is beautiful and completely safe and so is the north. Funny how people commonly say you should visit Siargao but don't go to Mindanao, Siargao is in Mindanao!

On the Taal volcano, so happy to hear you pointing out how dangerous it is and that it's a volcano within a volcano. The situation is that the large lake called Lake Taal is the creator of the Taal Volcano which is a Caldera volcano similar to Yellowstone in the US. The smaller one on Volcano island known as Mount Taal is not actually the volcano it's what is known as a vent from the big volcano. These small eruptions even if they seem big are just what I said small eruptions. If one day a larger eruption allows water from Lake Taal to flow down into the magma chamber underneath the lake the boom one of the biggest eruptions in the history of the planet will occur.

You cant declare a person dead .. hes a midding person! the United States, the Social Security Administration (SSA) presumes a person is dead if they have been missing from home and have not been heard from for at least seven years. This presumption applies regardless of the reason for the absence. To dispute the presumption, someone must prove the person is alive or provide an explanation for their absence. In other countries, the length of time required to presume death may vary depending on the circumstances of the disappearance: General disappearance: 10 years from the last sign of life, or 5 years for people over 80 Seafaring: 6 months after the sinking or other event Plane crash: 3 months after the crash Other life-threatening circumstances: 1 year from the end of the mortal danger

When you are in a foreign third world country you had better keep a low profile, watch your back and when others who seem to be looking out for you are warning you that you are in danger, listen to them.
