PHILIPPINES BARKADA DRINKING FAIL - Tagay Snacking With Filipino Alcohol

JUST A SIMPLE NIGHT DRINKING IN THE PHILIPPINES WITH MY BARKADA... BUT THERE IS A FEW THINGS I NEEDED TO LEARN, SO I DON'T FAIL AGAIN!
Actually, I already knew one of the "styles" of eating chips here during a tagay session. But Kumar and Madman gave me a few extra pointers! Yup, eating during drinking is a must here in the Philippines, and there are even special tactics to preparing the chips... Filipino style!
This is just another raw video from our lives here along the coast of Cateel, Davao Oriental.
We continue working on various house projects, and then find ourselves hanging out and sharing a Fighter 50 Friday night Tagay session! A little snacking and drinking! Learning as a foreigner can be fun in the Philippines!

took me awhile to pick up on the filipino's unspoken facial expressions like "raised eyebrows" mean yes, and using "pursed lips" for pointing directions, and "wrinkling the nose" for no, and i am still learning. However, in the beginning, when i would ask questions, and got no verbal answers, i finally learned to read a few of the facial expressions, which makes it a little easier to communicate, since i do not speak bisaya

The pursed lips came from "doon" or "dun" word meaning "there" pronounced like doom in english word with "n" sound instead of "m" on the last letter. On afternoon its usually sleep time for young children to grown fast. Thats why when people or children asking their parents about something or where they placed their toys the mother's reply is shhh your sibling is sleeping then purses lips (saying dun in a silent way) for direction of the toy. Or when someone is studying and is thinking then someone ask him where is the food, then usually the pursed lips for direction and don't want to be distracted from studying. The ancient Filipino language is Baybayin/Alibata which means to Speak or to Write what you Hear. Most of the of those facial expressions are actually from words spoken silently, to understand that you have to learn the language then from eye to brain you imagine that how it sounds from lips to ears aside from asing directly what is the meaning of that.

I would suggest that you guys buy a Zojirushi rice cooker. It has a timer so the rice will be cooked on whatever time that you set. It is perfect in the morning because you can prepare the rice at night and then set the timer to cook the rice at 7am. By the time breakfast is ready, the rice is also freshly cooked. No burned rice at the bottom of the rice cooker too.

This reminds me of the times I spent with my cousins in the Philippines. Our pulutan was always chips, and some sort of spicy food (usually spicy adobo). Time spent with others is unbelievably priceless. Treasure every moment 😊
