Those are disputed claims with not only China but with Vietnam as well. Probably Malaysia, Brunei or Taiwan too. The title is misleading. That missile system was never meant to be permanently stationed in the Philippines anyway. However, I agree with some of the comments - the Philippine president is all bluster and talk but has no balls.

So much nonsense in the comments section... How hard is it to understand the that the system was supposed to be deployed for the exercises this year. They weren't going to be deployed permanently. It was literally the first overseas deployment of the system after its introduction. There will be more deployments in the future. Especially with even bigger military exercises planned.
