Thank you for review. Interesting how the OS looks exactly like a modernised version of Philips' own OS from years ago. Taking Optical off was a big mistake. The only reason to buy Philips now would be if you HAD to have Ambilight, I think. Shame. I remember the great 90s tube TVs but they just aren't the same anymore since the sell off. Same with appliances.

Thanks for watching and for following my work for so many years! Always happy to see your comments! True, there is some "Philips DNA" still present and I actually quite like the layout of the quick and settings menus, but for sure Philips is limiting this model too much. They need to properly benchmark the competitors who are simply offering more.

Hi, this sounds like something went wrong with the VIDAA platform. Perhaps it would be best to check for software updates, then to reinstall the Netflix app and it this doesn't solve it, reset the TV to initial settings.

@@TVguyDarko Thank you very much for your immediate reply, the system is up to date, I will uninstall and see as you told me, to ask another question about the settings on the TV, I can see the resolution it has now and change it to 4k if not is it?

I'm on my second Philips TV. The first one which was the Philips the one 58PUS8535 and the screen gave up after just 13 months. It was a decent tv but it had its problems. I am now using a PHILIPS 50PUS7906 with 13 months and this tv has very bad skin tone reproduction. Plus theres some awful dirty screen effect in multiple areas of the screen. But I would like to buy the new 2024 Philips The one. I'm just a bit cautious because of the reliability and build quality. Also comparing my current philips TV to the Philips The One I had theres a few picture settings missing , ambi light settings missing and sound settings missing in the TV I have now. I wouldn't get the cheapest ambilight Philips TV again.

It's not Philips anymore anyway. Not that they had been great for the last few years anyway. Last great Philips TVs were in 2011/2012, but even those had problems.

@@endisuhonjic there's two reasons I bought Philips. 1 Google TV 2 the ambilight. I know other manufacturers have Google TV. I had a few different ambilight kits from lytmi , govee and two others. The lytmi kit was great but the extra wiring and having to control it from my phone was a pain. The Philips built in ambilight makes things much simpler. People go crazy for lg. I had an LG TV for two and a half years. That had web os 🤮 , the thing started having dirty screen effect after a year and a half. After two years the screen started showing purple patches and after two and a half years 75% of the screen was purple. My brother bought a very similar model LG TV and he had it even worse. After two and a half years his screen started going purple. Six months later 200% of the screen was purple. I want to buy a Sony but that Sony tax is too high. Two reasons I won't buy a Samsung 1) Ryzen od 2) the hdmi connections are on the wrong side of the TV. I have all my equipment in a shelving unit on the left of my room and it takes a 3 meter hdmi to reach it on the wall in the center of the room. If I bought a Samsung TV I would need to buy longer hdmi cables. I need an alternative to the Philips that's better but with Google TV and with the hdmi connectors on the bottom or left of the TV. Three reasons I won't buy lg 1) reliability from my experience it's not good. 2) web os. The web user interface is horrible , it's locked to IPTV apps on their store or other rubbish apps , the options for the TV control is horrible 3) LG TVs don't support any form of dts audio pass through for amplifiers or soundbars. I still have the 50" lg TV that I bought two years ago packed away in its box. I had no option but to buy it when I did because I had a very tight budget of just over €400 and I had two options. A very cheap 55" walker TV which was €350 but the image quality in it was awful or the lg tv. Those were my only options in my local store. I needed a TV because as I said the Philips TV suddenly stopped showing an image for no reason and I didn't have another TV. So I bought the lg TV even though I don't like LG TVs.

Hey guys, what is better TCL QLED tv 65C643 or SAMSUNG 55" AU8072? TY

Hi - Samsung AU is basic series without Quantum dots. TCL C series are QLED models and generally would recommend them over Samsung.

when I watch KZbin and want to go into the TV settings, the sound stops for a while and the menu lags.. is this normal or is the TV faulty?
@TVguyDarko
@TVguyDarko Күн бұрын
Yes, that happens on my unit as well, but not every time I open the menu.

Anyone knows how to light up those remote buttons? Somehow I can't get mine to light up or find any setting regarding it
@TVguyDarko
@TVguyDarko 9 күн бұрын
You need to use 1.5 V batteries, with rechageable 1.2 V Ambilight button works, but the rest lights up for a second and you cannot use the secondary buttons.

Thanks, got it now, I thought they would just stay lit or light up when I used other buttons, just realized they change function. Thanks for the answer :)
