Hi guys the 2020 model of this is know to have the limited apps too. i was wondering how difficult it is to actually screenmatch or cast from my wifes ipad so she can watch her shows on a big tv. I have it at home and it is awesome ! In time your eyes get used to it so its not annoying, you barely notice it but it makes you way more immersed, also it makes your eyes less tired if you like watching in a dark room as there is some more light around. I really recommend ambilight. Cant go back anymore.

I have just bought today the 43" version and all I can say is wow!!! Videos certainly do not show how effective the ambi lights really are. I've bought it solely for gaming and the effects are breathtaking.

The only issue I've had is with sound synch When I swap from a app based service like netflix or prime to my cable service the sound goes out of synch and I have to turn the tv off and on again. Apart from that best TV purchase I have ever made. Any other questions feel free to ask.

I've now owned the 43PUS8545/12 for just under a month and I really do love it. Philips mention that ambilight helps reduce eye strain in dark rooms and I feel like this is the best feature. It's the perfect TV for my bedroom 😍

Don't buy this TV if you haven't already. It's has a VERY slow OS. It suffers from memory leaks and lags constantly. Could have used at least double the power, if not more.

Thanks! I don't think there are other brands apart from Philips that do this, but as an alternative, you can pretty easily buy LED TV Light Strips that you just connect to the back of your TV via the USB-Port and use that, although it might not change depending on the video playback. I think you can buy more expensive lights that jump based on whats on your TV though.

Yes, it can be turned off fully in the settings too. I would say its better than the Samsung one purely for the lighting experience.

The features seem good, but it's a super slow TV with a laggy OS. Frequently crashes and locks up to where you have to pull the plug to restart it. It's all flash no power.

I had a Philips Ambilight back in 2012 and was very happy with it. (I've forgotten the name of the model). Unfortunately ,later, due to a misshap, a repair which was needed was too expensive so I bought another TV, this time from Samsung. But I've finally I've convinced my wife that we should purchase a new Ambilight, but on the Internet they don't seem to be the same as my former one. The saturation seems seems to be a lot stronger. Is this because they are shown closer to the wall? Another thing I noticed was on my old model, was there were more LEDs...smaller and closer to each other. If there was no COVID, I would look in the shops, and I don't want to take the chance of buying online until I'm sure that the difference is not that great. Maybe someone can help me.

Don't exaggerate with shopping in stores in person. As long as you wear a mask and don't get super close to people, you can shop in person perfectly fine without catching COVID. People exaggerate way too much about being afraid to catch it. Just wash your hands regularly and don't get super close to others and you'll be fine.

I have the 65" version is this and it's incredible value for money. Got mine from Curry's pc world for £549.99. I use a Yamaha yas101 at the moment as I'm waiting for an Atmos soundbar to come down in price. The ambilights are stunning and the 4k picture is really good. The only issue I had with the first one I bought was a small curved shadow in the top right corner. Possibly a diffuser issue but regardless, rang them up and they swapped it the following day.

I haven't tried reading .avi or XVID files to be honest, but I think even this Philips system might be a bit slow as well - I think its the price you pay because this is still a budget low-cost TV, so their software is not the fastest nor the greatest. I have the Apple TV 4K attached to it and have played 4K Content on it through Netflix and Amazon Prime, and both are a great experience with vibrant colors. It wouldn't be a worse experience than a 1080p TV in my opinion, I think you'd definitely see an improvement.

It would still look OK in the corner as long as there isn't anything obstructing the walls on the corner, like plants or shelves. Ideally, its best against a flat wall, but in the dark, you would still get a decent enough light dispersion to have a good cinematic viewing :)

You're welcome, and yes, it should follow gaming as well because it takes the lights from any output that is played on the TV. It did the same when I connected my Apple TV through HDMI as well - I don't expect XBOX to be any different. You'll love it!

Yep, absolutely. Just remember that the effect of the ambilight colors dispersing on the wall behind the TV would be limited. It would be more like light leaks, rather than dispersion. Hope that helps!

Hey, sorry I haven't looked at using this with Gaming and checking the lag. But from seeing how quick the response times are between switching between apps and loading them, I would recommend its not great for high-end gaming because its pretty slow. Hope that helps?

dude, I have questions. does Philips run the android system? in particular, this tv Philips 43PUS6704 / 12 - 4K TV I want to run kodi app that is on google play but I am wondering if the tv has google play app.

@@TrendingReviews thanks man. I am in the Netherlands and looking for an Android smart tv that can run google play apps or has access to google play. What brands can you suggest? I see RCA here: www.bol.com/nl/p/rca-rs43f2-full-hd-tv/9200000121256969/ do you have any idea about this tv? I also learned that Samsung and Toshiba also run android but they do not have access to google play apps. How does it work then? Is it a different version? I would be so glad if you can help me man. Would you recommend the PUS6704 or the PUS6804? I heard the 6704 has night mode and the 6804 doesn’t, which is a big deal for me since I like to play in darkness without eye strain. Or can you lower the brightness of 6804 to match it. Ty in advance
