A lot of people either love or hate this sterilizer! I'll demonstrate its usage and explain its features, and share some of my first hand experiences with it. I also explain the features/defects that people complain about too.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for the video. My aunt handed this sterilizer to me. I don’t like that it only has one button as I was so confused to how long I was supposed to leave it on I did not know that it would shut off by itself. This video helped so much.

I see that you have the Hong kong model so it's probably 220V. Does it work with 110V as well? Say if you go to Japan or North America. We will be getting a voltage convertor but it's a hassle to move around. Thx!

Can you use any set of bottles? Or does it have to be avent bottles? Also, can I sanitize the sections that come apart in the dishwasher. It was given to me second hand as well and I'd like to give it a clean first. Thank you!

should work with any bottle or any item as long as its placed in the proper orientation.

Does it need to be unplugged after sterilization if you want to keep the bottles in there forn24 hours?
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend unplugging it after use for sure. keeping it sterile inside has everything to do with not opening it. it doesn't run any kind of periodic on-off cycle after its run (the water is mostly boiled off by then, and you'd have to open it to refill.... so just unplug it and leave it closed.

Which water is put for sterilization, hot or cold in the sterilizer?
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 2 жыл бұрын
doesn't matter, probably cold water is better (hot water may have more minerals from the water heater that would leave scaling...).

Do you need to dry the bottles/pump after sterilizing?
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 3 жыл бұрын
no, it's sterile in there, so until you open it, nothing will be growing inside even if its still wet.

Hi, i bought a used sterilizer (not avent) and it doesn’t turn off automatically when i sterilize my bottles and i didnt realize until i came back to check 30 minutes later.. is it safe to sterilize that long? Will the bottles release its chemical?
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 3 жыл бұрын
Was there still water boiling the whole time? I think the biggest risk is the chance that the heating element will start a fire (once the water run outs). I think the bottles will be ok with the steam. if the water has run out, the bottles or case of the steamer might also melt, so in that case you need to worry about chemicals coming out....

@@CluelessDad thank you for your reply! Fortunately there was still some water on the heating plate
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 3 жыл бұрын
@@fzrn4638 ok, maybe that one shut off early before the water boiled off, and there was still steam coming up at a slower rate....

Do you find it it gives off a plastic smell after the steam?
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 3 жыл бұрын
no, I haven't. some people say there's a burnt smell, but that may be due to the minerals/chemicals in your water.

Do I have to use distilled water? Can I use tap water?
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 3 жыл бұрын
Tap water is fine, but depending on what's in your tap water (mineral wise), you may need to 'descale' it once in a while. you can use vinegar to disolve and wipe away the minerals that build up on the heating element in the base (I have a video for that here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJnMaJhtmZuqg7s )

How do you dry the parts? If you dry them with a paper towel doesn't it defeat the purpose of sterilizing it?

Can you put metal in it?
@CluelessDad
@CluelessDad 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, should be fine, but be careful, I imagine the metal will be hot to the touch for a lot longer when its done. use tongs to pick up any metalware right after it stops.
