Philips HUE Dimmer Switch -With & without the HUB - 1242

I got myself a Philips HUE Dimmer Switch, it should have been a simple easy little thing to get up and running. So I can only conclude that I must be stupid, as it took me hours,, so watch the video before you make my mistake.
The Philips HUE Dimmer Switch, is not that expensive, so a possible gift idea,,,for the upcoming season.

Nice video! This is how my smart home started! Went to home assistant with a native zigbee dongle instead of the hue bridge. Never going back :) automate scenes like no before :) you can run home assistant easily on your datacenter and run zigbee native ;)

Don't forget that to count 3 seconds, you need to start counting at /zero/ and finish on three (or start at one-Mississippi and end after three-Mississippi!)

Just wondering about the deficiency with the hub - would it work if you pair the remote with the hub, and then do some sort of hub setup to tell what it is meant to do?

I think the bulb is only taking it´s commands from one master :-)

@@MyPlayHouse You mean two masters, your phone and the remote? Anyway, if the "master" is the hub, it would speculatively be plausible that the hub can include remotes along with the app. At least if they did a bit of thinking around use cases, it should be possible with combined operation. However, in my smarthome setup, I've made sure to be able to do it all with open source software, giving me full control, and full responsibility if things do not work out 😁

It worked I’ve been seduced 😮 I was gonna get all smart bulbs n power switches , but then I thought that’s about 15 extra devices using the Wi-Fi, won’t that harm/clog performance/reach for the devices i need it to work with like doorbell, phones n pc?

Philips Hue,, does not actully use the wifi,, it is some other radio frequncies,,,but also in the 2.4Ghz. It should not interfere.
