What's the difference between the floor lamps and the gardiant floor lamps? They both can link with the sync box? Correct? On Phillips website, the one lamp is 249.00 and the gardiant is 299. I just bought the sync box and gardiant light strip for the back of my TV and ordered the 249 floor lamps to go with it... Did I order the wrong ones?? Or do both work.

I use my timers in a few ways - I have the outside lights turning on when I come home but only for 15 mins. Then in the morn I have the bedroom lights coming on when I want to wake up and turning off a few mins before I need to leave for work. I also set my bedroom lights to turn on at night but start dimming and turn off when I like to go to sleep. I love them! Can’t wait to kit out more of my house in these lights - even taught my parents to turn them off and on using either Siri or google. (Always a laugh!)

Timers are great, I use it for all my smart lights as well as Hue now.. I use the sunset/sunrise settings a lot. for example, in winter when mornings are darker I set a time for lights to turn on say 06.00 and set to turn of at sunrise.. same for evening lights, to turn on say 20min after sunset.. excellent stuff and great for when going away leaving the house empty, then all your lights can go off and on in different sequences to seem like someone is at home at all time.

Could even put something in the oven that takes about 45 minutes to cook - put the food in and set a 45-minute timer that changes the lights to red when it’s cooked - or set a timer to make the lights turn a different colour when a programme like Coronation Street or EastEnders is coming on!

Justin, I use timers when I am cooking on my stove. I use the timer on my Nest Hub that is next to the stove. The timer tells me when I should stop cooking the food and when it's time to turn over a piece of meat or some other dish.

Hue have been so slow at getting to this multicolor and dynamic effects, and as much as I like the Hue ecosystem, they just charged so much more compared to the competition that is already ahead of them, Govee is actually really stepping up their game, they just need to be compatible with Apple HomeKit to be the best on the quality and price

Yea Govee is pretty cool from what ive played with so far. I like that there is at least Siri Shortcuts support, but Homekit would be great. I wonder if they will support Thread/Matter... Lots to say about Govee - can't wait to produce these videos...

@@Justin_tech thread is just a way to get more money from corporations tbh, I mean, zigbee started with the same benefits that thread is promoting but at the end corporations didn’t want to play on the same field and locked most of their functions to their own hubs… and yeah, i think homepods with thread are the same as an Echo device with zigbee hub. Still love Hue ecosystem but would wish that the competition being ahead of them manage to make them reduce prices with better products… or at least open their protocols a little more to play well with other zigbee products without limiting functionality

I have been considering getting the signed floor lamps for the back corners of the TV room to use with Hue Sync, but I am having so many issues with Sync that I am not sure I want to but anything more until I work out what is going on and if it is possible to fix!!

@@Justin_tech We have Sky TV in the UK and when I set the picture quality to UHD the Sync doesn't work and it also seems to stop Sky TV working in other rooms. I can only assume it is something to do with the 5ghz mesh network that Sky TV uses being distrusted by the extra bandwidth being used. I was going to try switching everything Hue to 2.4ghz but no idea how I do that without breaking it all!!!

Does the gradient feature of the signe work with the hue sync box and if so, does it count as only 1 light fixture?

If the Gradient and non-Gradient are the same price, I suppose one should go with the Gradient, as it's newer and has the multi-color feature? BTW: 3:07 I think that's it... I'll be willing to bet, that rather than changing the leds/cheaping out, they just realized the old numbers turned out to be somewhat false advertising... Also worth mentioning: If the lamp is mainly run in a dimmed mode, there is less heat and a much lower peak temperature, so they tend to last a lot longer...

These have been rumored for a year, so I'm glad they are finally coming out. But I'm not buying anything else "Smart" till they support Thread/Matter. I've never had anything from Hue die on me even with 2 lightning strikes...so far! But I'm getting the urge to dump Hue for Nanoleaf to begin moving over to all things Thread and Matter.
