When it's good it's good but that's not always the case. I love my OneBlade but there are a few dealbreakers that made me consider a switch. 1. The razors are very fragile, they're only being held together by some felxible plastic thingy which is pretty thin and break if too much pressure is applied (and that's less than you'd think) 2. The razors are SO EXPENSIVE, seriously, it's ridiculous 3. It seems like the bigger comb you attach, the more inconsistent results you get (but that might just be my beard) It's pretty nice for close shaving, but it wasn't as much of a hit for my beard treaming use.

The blade cartridges are a bit fragile, but I used one for an entire year before I replaced it, so you just need to not be rough with it. I have a hard zipper case that I use to store the shaver and cord and blades and other attachments. That helps to keep everything safe and not banged up. The blades really aren't that expensive if you consider that they last months and months. I'm replying to a 4 year old post, so maybe they were pricier back then. But anyway, look at sites like temu for replacement cartridges and see how it goes. Your overall costs can be kept very low if you're smart. And of course, if you use the oneblade, you don't have to spend anything at all on shaving cream or aftershave gel/balm, so there's that too.

I love the Philips oneblade, it is the only device I've ever used that allows me a close shave without irritation and ingrowns (including safety razors and expensive Braun foil shavers). I use mine to shave every day or two and the blades last me almost two months. That was a solid review video and I agree with everything you said except two observations: 1) There is a difference in the body model vs the regular model, it has a lithium ion battery that holds a longer charge with less charge time. I have that model and even though it's not used for anywhere below the neck, the upgraded battery was worth it to me. 2) That is pretty unusual blade wear you presented there... It should be wearing away more evenly to eventually reveal two green arrows indicating it's time to change it out. Not knocking you, just saying you may want to contact Philips. All in all this is a great device and has really solved a long and frustrating battle with shaving for me. Even if someone doesn't use it as their primary shaving device like I do, it still is a valuable tool.
@6MonthsLater5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for those points and feedback. Interesting, I never saw any arrows. Perhaps it was a defect? I’ll keep monitoring the subsequent blades to see if they eventually show up. Thanks for commenting!

Just don’t make the mistake that I did and try to save money by purchasing random replacement blades from eBay. My grossly overdue to be replaced original blade was ten times better than the fresh cheap imitations. The pull and irritate like mad, feels like dry shaving with a used disposable three blade type razor. So, pretty much horrible and about as awful of a shaving experience as I’ve ever had. Luckily with the genuine blades this thing is a dream to shave with. I’ve had mine for years, purchased it when I got a job that was overly strict about shaving every day. Before the One Blade getting ready each day was torture for my face and neck. Zero issues once switching to the One Blade. I was honestly blown away. Worth every penny.

I’ve been heavily investing in shaving for the last five years. Here’s what I’ve found based on years of experience looking for shave I want. (I want the smoothest quick shave without getting ingrown hairs or irritation.) 1) Annually, with daily shaving, the Oneblade will cost the same as buying the Braun Series 9 with cleaning cartridges replacing the cleaning cartridge solution every 19 cycles (I took over two weeks to count exactly how many cycles until the light turns on.) 2) The Philips Norelco OneBlade doesn’t provide the closest shave when “close” is defined by the length of hair protruding from the skin. However, “smoothness” I have found the OneBlade can provide (with extra work) a shave nearly as smooth as a Double Edge Safety Razor. This is all from my experience, not the opinions of others. 3) Using Leftric Shave or another electric pre-shave will make this even smoother. If your goal is the closest shave, the Gillette Fusion 5 should be the winner because it will cut under the skin, but that’s a problem. Cutting under the skin produces ingrown hairs. Don’t get me wrong, the experience of taking a warm shower followed by shaving against the grain with a new Gillette Fusion 5 ProGlide using the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Sensitive 2 in 1 Shave Gel is AMAZING. (Assuming you didn’t break out in ingrowns the next day.) But you know, like I do, that those sharp, amazing shave experiences don’t last very long on those blades. In my experience, the way to get an oil-covered baby butt dish soap lathered slip and slide smooth shave is using a double-edge safety razor. The best part is you don’t get breakouts. It takes time to learn, but I go against the grain nearly everywhere on its face every time I shave and am never disappointed by blade performance. Double edge safety razors are much sharper, profoundly cheaper, and easy to learn.
@samburrell32882 жыл бұрын
yeh i've been using double edge safety razors since the end of 2019 bruv and i love them, so good, much better, i was plagued with ingrown hairs before from using gilette cartridge razors and braun and philips electric shavers, i tried it all. won't be going off safety razors now, use great shaving soap too the poraso, very nice, less chemicals in than gilette and nivea shaving foams so it's nicer on the skin

@@vvb9012 yes I have. I personally didn't use the shaving function near the "middle" because I was afraid to cut myself there but it does a great job at trimming. I used the shaving function more toward the bikini line and I would say it takes a couple passes to shave all the hair off. I noticed there's always some stubborn hair that the one blade can't get for some reason. Personally I wasn't going for a perfect shave so I don't mind but if you want a perfect shave it'll take more time. One thing I've noticed is that I don't get the "post-shave itch" with this blade lol

When shaving close to skin its does not give me a uniform shaving, I have to repeat many times the same movements, and in the end it takes me a long time to get it homogeneous (if fully homogeneous), skin irritated in some areas , and generally not pratical for a close to skin shaving. Way better with a gillette! It is good for fast sideburn shaving and so, and for a couple day bear size shaving. I use it in the 0.5 postion

Phillips is amazing 👏 I got rid of simple razers for at least 1 year There is only 1% of difference between Phillips shavers vs Normal Razer It gives you 99% smooth shave like a Blade Battery life is very good Wish i could have got phillips earlier because i have wasted a lot of money getting shavers which were expensive . Phillips electric shavers are beautifull . It gives you a quick shave weather you go outside or at home you look good . Let me tell you the best thing about phillips it gives you shave without hurting your face at all .
@69mjar4 жыл бұрын
I used to own one and it gives you a quick shave not too close. The only thing I hate is you have to buy a new one every 2 years because the battery wont stay charged and you cant get it out without braking the trimmer open making it unusable.

I don’t know about anyone else but this is the best shaver I’ve found so far to clean up the sack and pelv... As long as you do the flying squirrel in the area your shaving you’ll have great results and minimal nicks if at all. I even use it on my wife for surprisingly nice hardwood floors. I find it to be a very useful product.

I'm about to pull the trigger on this, but the only thing that's holding me back is the 4 hour at best charge time. 8 hours charge for 45 minutes use (the basic model) is unacceptable in 2022, and I'm not paying over the odds for the model which charges in one hour. Is there any way to use after a quick charge? Thanks

did replace the dollar shave club cartridge after every second use? how do you manage to get 4 months on the oneblade if it's only good for 32 shaves and you used 16 cartridges in that same period of time
@BladesDark4 жыл бұрын
Just got one based off a few reviews. Was scary to use because i feel like it doesnt really tell you whats cutting because to 2 blade ends you see. Also🤣 since I've never used a electric trimmer anything before this one. . I used it in the shower, shaving pubic hairs.. Started with the body attachment, after i pulled off the attachment to get closer. Had to clean head as needed to which wasn't difficult. Like i said before that flat area seems to be doing some sort of trimming. I experimented At one point and kept it in place on the skin. Felt like it burned or cut me, didnt leave a mark but after that i decided its best to keep the blade moving 😂 it cuts close maybe not as close as a traditional blade but pretty close. Youll be satisfied.

This beats a cartridge razor in terms of price over time, but doesn't achieve a close shave. If you want both a cheap price and close shave I'd recommend getting a safety razor. It takes a bit of practice to get used to it but over time you will be getting a very close shave with no cuts or irritation. I'm a bit biased because I just started using a safety razor a month ago but I really enjoy shaving with it now and I get very close shaves.
