Glad to see Bote back up in the bigs. He’s always been solid when he’s in the lineup. Don’t really know why he hasn’t been brought back up sooner. Edit: Happ might be the only person in MLB history to have two 3 run home runs from both sides of the plate in the same game.

Crazy how our happ 2 months ago at the first month of the season had 0 homers… now 2 months later he has 13! WOW HOLY COW most progress I’ve saw outta happ, he used to have like 4 to 3 strike outs a game. Now that’s down to 1 to 2 sometimes. I also at the start of the season didn’t have hope in Ian Happ only because he would strike out so much! Thank god for blessing our cubs players with a Holy Spirit!❤

This is less of series and more of an audition for cubs outfielders to be Phillies by the deadline. Happ looked awesome but I’m still partial to Cody because of his defense at multiple positions. I think Cody bellinger for Abel and a couple lower level prospect including the one pretty good young catcher would be a fair deal for both teams. I just wish the cubs had a closer we could find a way to get into the deal as well.

I thought the same. Wish they would have shown a better replay so we could tell if his leg went under and hit home before the tag. I've noticed some catchers sweep up or toward the player for the tag instead of swiping down against the ground to get in front of the leg. Like you said though, would have been nice but wasn't needed.

They thought they could ask Morel to *learn* 3b and not have his young undisciplined self do this at no cost to his hitting. I"m just guessing here, but I think that's part of the issue. I say keep him in, rotating with Bote, and just ride it out and don't get down on him. We could have a good 3b by the end of the season and one who will also hit in 2025. He's got a *great* arm and is making off-balance throws across the diamond right on the money. They should finish what they started and develop him into a viable every day 3b.
