A plane crashed into a Philadelphia neighborhood sending debris into a diner, seriously injuring a patron.
Hundreds of firefighters and first responders descended on Northeast Philadelphia after the plane crashed late Friday afternoon. Authorities say the plane crashed near the Roosevelt Mall. According to the FAA, six people were on board.

I know that area quite well and I can just imagine how many cars and people are about at that time of night - the dinner hour - lot of people probably having food delivered or about to go out to eat. Wonder if the crash was enough to crack walls in houses. The smell of the jet fuel would be pretty bad. I’m still worried about people in cars or pedestrians including people waiting for buses.

@srshwa Doubtful, because the tank itself was found near the McDonald's which is near the diner. That tank was likely hurled where it landed from the blast. When it hit the ground, the stem sheared off and was propelled through the window of the diner as the tank was likely full or partially full.

@.35 seconds. That looks like a CGA 870 toggle valve off a medical oxygen tank. Investigators are going to want to have that as part of their task. Speculation here, if that cylinder came uncorked, from being unsecured during acceleration and initial climb out, the aluminum oxygen tank would become a deadly missile. The bigger ones can punch through a cinder block wall. They are pressurized to 2000 psi.

I don't think that valve in particular would have made it to the diner if it uncorked in flight. It probably got knocked off when the bottle was flying to McDonald's from the explosion that occurred on the ground

In the USA, either pilots are less qualified, or the ATC is less qualified since deceased POTUS Ronald Reagan fired the striking ATCs, or both. It was the ATC' fault. If that's true, then it goes back to it being POTUS Ronald Reagan's fault who fired striking ATCs on his watch. That's unacceptable, so it has to be a pilot error.

I live on the east coast and we have experienced about 10-12 days of extremely cold temps, in the single digits and some below 0°. I wonder since these planes are flown ONLY for medical transport…are the oxygen tanks kept in the jet, or stored under indoor controlled temperatures?? Could an oxygen tank have exploded if it was subjected to extreme temperature changes, for instance could it happen if they were attempting to administer oxygen to the patient and turned the valve on?? Something opened that plane up before it hit the ground, because parts are all over the neighborhood, including a severed foot found on the road still inside of a shoe. That had to have fallen before impact and the explosion on the ground.

They said it was full of fuel, so that might explain why it was on fire before falling from the sky. But WHAT caused it to explode or catch on fire?? Did it hit something? Did something hit IT? It was a medflight that literally just took off from the NE airport and traveling to Missouri I think so it had a full tank and was in the air for less than a minute before going down. I wonder if an O2 tank blew.

From the footage alone…. I *can* guarantee you it was a mechanical failure. Those pilots weren’t in control of finding the safest place to crash. That plane essentially lost its wing flaps. The pilots were only there to control the speed of the engines as the inevitable happened. They knew before any camera that they were in an uncontrollable spiral. I’m willing to bet the plane flew upside down based off the fast it was trying to do so in the videos. It was rotating with no way to stop that. The wing flaps or went out. If it rotated like a frisbee then the tail itself would be the main cause. It rotated not front to tail. It rotated wing to wing. Like the wings either became frozen or the controls snapped completely away from the pilots. This was a mechanical problem on my assumption. Look into who refueled and loaded the plane where it took off from next after black box release. We need answers not politically bias conspiracies
