@@adamellis5513 I started my first shoebox with this video and other creator’s info like 90 sec mycology, mycophilia etc. And I had successful harvest. Only thing I could’ve done better is the depth of the coco coir. If you want higher yield make the “cake” atleast 3 to 4 inches. Mine was barely an inch and it gave me beautiful fruiting bodies but only about 8 grams dry weight. Which isn’t bad for a first harvest but beside that it’s gonna be hard to get a second harvest out of that cake. I’m gonna try dunking to see if I can get a second flush

Just got done doing this using these videos. Ill have to say, i was nervous about the substrate recipe that PGT has directions for. I thought it might come out too dry but it came out absolutely perfect. I used the CVG recipe. My jars were snow white and so healthy too. The room I put grain spawn to substrate in still smells of mushrooms 2 hours later. I used brown rice from these videos but also pressure cooked the rice jars. Came out perfect as well. Just hoping the rest of the process goes as well as it has so far. For anyone wanting to try their hand at mycology, I highly recommend using these videos step by step because so far i have had exceptional beginners luck to this point. Im not gonna lie though. Im very nervous about the next couple weeks because I've invested a couple months into researching how all this mycology stuff works and also a lot of time as well. I dont want to fail because it is a game of patience and it does take more time by far then I want to actually wait. Its very hard to have the patience so you definitely want it to have success because starting over would be a real bummer. Taking the steps to be extremely clean through the whole process is really a pain and very time consuming but it is an absolute must. Cant wait to clone, do agar and eventually liquid culture. PGT's videos have to be some of the best to learn from if not the best period. There are some other channels that i do like but i always reference back to PGT vidoes to make my final decisions and choices.

quick tip on adding substate. this step is super important as it will dictate the moisture level when you are fruiting. make sure your sub has enough moisture content. do it in layers, and you can mist inbetween to make sure if you think its a little dry. this will basically ensure while fruiting you might not need to ever mist your tub. just fan. :) a little extra misting goes a long way. ride the spiral my friends.
