Your gloriosum is so pretty, that new leaf😍!!!! I was in love with my one “leafer”.... until I rotted the roots in leca 😭😭😭 I’m confident I can save it, but it was doing so good! Also note to self.... don’t try semi hydro for the first time with your gloriosum 😅🥵

Oh no that’s so sad 😫😫😫. Yah if I were to ever try my plants in leca I’d definitely start with some easy stuff like Aglaonemas and pothos 😂

I didn’t know gloriosum grow from rhizomes. I guess I never saw any in my plant so I figured you can only get these plants through propagations

@@GloriasPlants I just checked it out after I read your reply, in case I was getting scammed LOL It said it grows from a rhizome that "creeps along" the ground. so probably similar to a node. Hope it works!!

Renegade therapist yah maybe it’s a leafless node (aka wet stick) which likely will root and grow a leaf 😊

I am eyeing this Philodendron Gloriosum, OR the Alocasia Green velvet. You seem to have both! What are the differences between them. I love the dark green they both have with the white. But I probably don't need both... Or maybe I do...! Would love to hear your thoughts on the two.

i probably prefer the gloriosum more as i've since sold off my frydek since alocasias tend to be huge spider mite magnets which is just too stressful for me!

@@GloriasPlants Thank you! I wound up getting a small Gloriosum. Though I'm fretting because the leaf has some small yellow spots and the edge is yellow... Eekkk. Praying it is not too bad and I can fix it!

it really depends on the condition of roots. i generally like rooting in moss first before placing into leca (so at least theres a few root nubs)
