What is the difference between Mamei and Mamei siliver cloud?

Different species… its hard to tell them apart. I believe Mamei has a pink dot between the leaf and the petiole

Is the silver cloud very similar to the mamei?
@onlyplants3 жыл бұрын
Apparently they are different but I havent found reliable source of how to differenciate them😅
@yukiaditya73523 жыл бұрын
The markings look alike but the shape of the leaf is noticably different. Mamei has a narrower form of leaf (pretty similar with Philodendron Serpens), while this silver cloud has more round form.
@kjp7912 жыл бұрын
Hey shawn can u differentiate mamei and silver cloud mamei?

@colonelaurelianobuendia72033 жыл бұрын
I believe that's not mamei, Sean. It's silver cloud. Mamei tends to produce red cataphyll, more elongated leaf with less silvery. The problem with Indonesian market is original mamei is so much harder to find, it's like original pastazanum things.
@onlyplants3 жыл бұрын
Interestinggg. I tried finding out the difference between the two and theres no definite/credible source. If you google mamei, many of the images have green cataphylls too. I will try to confirm it as I tour more nurseries and talk to more people. Thanks for pointing it out! 😀

what is the difference between plowmanii and mameii? i dont get it
@sproutswithjoy3 жыл бұрын
the mamei has silver on the leaves; the plowmanii does not (it’s just green)
@sunset93233 жыл бұрын
@@sproutswithjoy regular plowmanii also has silver pattern on the leaves but not as much as mameii. mammei has brighter leaves, you can differentiate it from the leaf shape and texture
@sproutswithjoy3 жыл бұрын
@@sunset9323 that makes sense-the plowmanii I’ve seen didn’t have nearly as much silver as the mamei. are they more silvery when juvenile, maybe??
@onlyplants3 жыл бұрын
