Thank you for not giving the shill disclaimer that ‘not all postmodernists are the same’… or ‘there is no one objective postmodernism position common to this group that is against objectivity’

Thanks for posting this. I am not sympathetic of postmodernism but it is nice to hear a description that doesn't play it down from the outset.

Many people seem to have preconceptions of postmodernism despite the term being used in a broad and unspecific way. Saying it is incomprehensible gibberish certainly doesn't do it justice. In fact, it is quite arrogant taking a intellectual highground without giving any arguments targeting it's concrete (lack of) propositions.

We were better off before postmodernism pushed truth into being objective and subjective. There has to be at least some ultimate truths....anything else is delusional. Im sure there must be a few things that all religions share.

I enjoy how self defeating, contradictory and how if taken seriously makes no sense or progress in any direction Post modernism is.

I feel the same way, yet i cannot but endorse in it. I play along all other camps and have great interest in them, but in the end i always question the principles of truth where they stand, and come back, therefore, to my own certainty of uncertain i.e. post modernism

how does it "make no sense if taken seriously"? read simulacra and simulation from Baudrillard and tell me that's "self defeating", "contradictory" and "makes no sense". And btw your "no progress in any direction" argument literally misses the whole point of postmodernism. Postmodernism rejects the idea of linear progress entirely; this kind of obviously follows from the rejection of singular (meta) narratives, duh...

Great summary of the ideological fallacies peddled to unsuspecting philosophy students by the postmodernist thinkers. Each of these seven points can be refuted IMHO and should be publicized.

I prefer to think they are just pointing out the inherent inaccuracy, think of it through the lens of Parmenides being and seeming; there is fundamental flaw to logic as Gödel proves, and reality is based on the assumption of Other.. does this mean that satellites aren't able to station keep with inherently flawed mathematics, no, but it's okay, maybe even a little bit important to point out the limitations of such systems... I could go on, 😆 check out J P Sterns synopsis of Nietzsche with Brian McGee on KZbin, fucking gorgeously concise, there's a section in there on an idea of the structures of understanding that I find very illuminating to how one text may have various valid contradicting conclusions, that are both valid.. of course it takes some mental gymnastics to find such an edge case, but nothing so extreme one wouldn't expect to find similar feats around the dinner table 😏
