I don’t think we feel President Trump is the Messiah. We know he speaks for millions of conservatives to preserve good values and bring America back to some semblance of normalcy while acknowledging God. I watched the RNC and thought it was very good. Not a fan of most republicans; but the feeling of love for America, the feeling conveyed for the sanctity of human life and optimism for our country were some of the high notes for me.

Trump is a sinner like the rest of us. It's comforting for me to see him humble himself in asking for prayers & consulting with Godly men & thanking God for his protection last Saturday. I'm a single Mom from north Texas. My son is 15 and he's gone to Sportman's Camp at Camp ChYoCa the past two summers. We attended church at WFR, took the Duck Commander tour, read your family's books & watched the movie & the treasure shows & listen to the podcast regularly. I love the conversation and continued guidance in Christ for both of us. I loved the timeliness of Monday's podcast as you prayed for Trump & our country after the shooting. Hearing Zach's thoughts about the RNC today was a little disheartening though. Nations crumble and we'd be hard-pressed to find another place with the religious freedoms that we as Americans enjoy. If you widen the lens, there was a lot of prayer & family at the convention, something you don't see every day anywhere. Most that took the stage spoke of God... Speaker Johnson from Louisiana spoke beautifully, Ben Carson spoke Truth, Franklin Graham had a wonderful prayer, and parents were honored; four days of faith & family front & center to a huge audience. A sight for sore eyes! I believe we should all pray for our nation, a nation founded on Moses law, in God we trust; a place that allows us to share Jesus with the rest of the world. I enjoy Zach and he does look like JD Vance! But his message came across a bit cynical. We only have two choices in the upcoming election.

The Pastor that you’re referring to Jase, is Pastor Lorenzo Sewel. He is a wonderful man of God. He came to my church and spoke, he was a good friend of my pastor. I spoke to Pastor Lorenzo about being molested as a child and how it affected me. He was so compassionate and loving, he put his hands on me and prayed for me for forgiveness and healing from what happened to me as a child. By the way, I love your family, I have been a huge fan of Duck Dynasty for years and I’ve turned many people onto the show. 3:40 I got to respect the guy who knows who Francis Schaeffer was. Schaeffer has been dead for like 40 years. That guy came out of the 1930s and 40s. His most active period was the 60s and 70s. He was a theologian of the highest order, and the historian with a PhD level of education on several different histories. I think he's official doctorate was in theology. Another guy to look up for making you think a little bit is Leonard ravenhill. Leonard ravenhill and his friend Dr tozer were some of the greatest men of God in their generation. Tozer took an even more intellectual pursuit of God than most. He was also a guy in the 1920s and 30s that would send out people to minister to Frank nitti in Al Capone's men. The guy had guts.

No one is saying that Trump is our savior. Those of us who are Jesus followers understand that Jesus is our only savior and His Kingdom is not the USA. The change I see in President trump in wanting to bring unity to the nation was refreshing and that could only happen with Jesus. So, if nothing else happened at this convention, other than the unity we watched unfold, then we should be thankful and giving praise to God. I think where Zach is a bit mistaken here is, we're not looking for another Napoleon. We're looking for a halt to the insanity, not just leftism / progressivism, but sheer insanity that thinks there is more than two genders, that men can get pregnant, that it's a good idea to give children puberty blockers, etc. I'm not suggesting these are purely Democrat Party ideals, but the Democratic Party is where those ideas find favorable ground. Al and Phil have the correct mindset on this subject I believe. Jesus was meek but he wasn’t feather-legged! Too many white pastors want to ride the fence and let “government” (liberals in our government) spook them into keeping their mouths shut about prayer being squashed out of our schools and especially roe v wade. These pastors are more interested in their new buildings and increasing their membership. The gospel is pushed aside. EVERY Gospel preaching pastor I have ever sat in front of ignores the government and will bravely wade right into the deep to tell his congregation which politicians have their backs and who does not! The feather-legged pastors will sometimes go so far as to invite evil into their service’s. In my opinion, that just gives the evil doers the notion that their immoral lifestyle is ok with him. That’s how they see the invite. Those people should seek out the church when they realize they need a church. And 9 times out of 10 they’re gonna seek out a gospel believing church with a gospel preaching man of God.

My son's graduation class prayed over their graduation at least 5 times that I counted , they thanked God many many times for getting them to where they're at now and they said the Pledge of Alliance before the ceremony. I agree that we need to bring the gospel back to the schools. There is a program in Ohio called Lifewise Academy it allows students to attend bible classes during school hours. It is legal by a supreme court ruling. Please help spread the awareness of this program and help it grow to other states around the nation.

In fact if it wasn't for the VBS raising money for it I would have never heard of the program. I was shocked to learn that it was even possible to have bible classes for children attending public schools during school hours. It seems to be such a great ministry and I can't wait to see what it does in our school district.

@@MrMild-sv7is I appreciate your comment and I agree. Lifewise is legal through a Supreme Court ruling in 1952 (Zorach vs Clauson). In order to operate it has to be privately funded, off school property, and parent permitted. Now, some may still believe that released time religious instruction should not be allowed at all. And I can agree to disagree on that! But otherwise, it’s legal via the Supreme Court. This means that all religions have the right to do this, not just Christians.

IMO, some of the speakers from the RNC did give off the impression that when Trump gets in office, everything was going to suddenly get fixed. I’m thinking that, that is what Zach was hearing from the RNC. I do think that Trumps policies are going to go into place to make things better, but we all know that things come with time and that some things may be just a little better and some things may be a whole lot better. We all need to remember that President Trump is not our Savior, he’s just a man, but he does support Christian values.
