Thank you for this analysis! The shiny tank on 16:49 is not quite a coffee-maker, it's a device called Samovar, which was used to heat water for tea (so your intuition did not fail you, I am sure it was sometimes used for making coffee too).

First time to come across Stozharov. A contemporary colourist I recently came across, whose work I enjoy, is Slava Korolenkov.

Nice analysis of a great painter! Never heard of him before interesting at 08:23 you can see remnants of a painted over bottle next to the dark bottle

Thank you so much I learn so much from your analysis ( the musical instrument is a Piano Accordian which you just don't see around anymore) Thanks again (Australia)

A great painter and by all means his compositions are great, but... His skills stem from the Repin (who was Ukrainian, not Russian) school, which was by writer Maxim Gorky's formulation made into a state dogma of 'socialist realism', which glorifies (Russian) poverty and aims to make-believe that all of the Soviet workers were all the time full of joy of living in the great machine of USSR. This might be technically great, very gripping and greatly sentimental, but if it's touching you, beware, because all this work aims to do is communist Russia-propaganda. And this is not a joke.
