I swear when I read your comment I was thinking NO WAY IN HELL! I googled it though, and you're absolutely correct. Almost all of the states with the highest murder rates are red states. (granted, the murdering is almost all done in one or two major cities within those states that happen to vote >80% blue) like Baltimore, New Orleans, etc
