Thankfully Trey pulled him self out of the trenches back in mid 00s or nobody would be able to experience them getting better and better. Church is in session once again

I went to the tour opener. No doubt a great show! Fun and I had a blast. There's some differences tho in current Phish vs 1.0&2.0 Phish. One of the biggest, their catalog. They have a lot of new songs that are rip roarers. They are a bit more snoozy and dad rock. Different style. Second, their age and the fact that Trey doesn't really shred like he used to. It is what it is, doesn't mean it's NOT AWESOME, it's just not why I fell in love with Phish. Technically speaking, they are playing very well now. This second set tho, for me would have been destroyed by the song choices that followed..at least they got a Fluffhead to close out. Just my .02 we had tickets to Monde Green and we sold em. To me, I'm just not willing to spend that much cash and travel anymore for them. I'll catch them if I'm close by tho!

Loved this venue....soooooo going back. And the "with" was such a nice surprise. Overall a pretty tight 3 songs. Sometimes it doesn't have to be a 40-minute jam/version to give your soul a woody.

I'm not really a big Phish fan, more of a Deadhead, but I'm from Rhode Island, close to Weekapaug. I remember that party that they played at, after which they came up with the basis of Weekapaug Groove on their way home. I wasn't at the actual party cuz Weekapaug was rich kids territory and lower peons like myself weren't invited to many of their parties. I do remember a buzz around town that a "cool Dead cover band from Vermont" were coming down to play there.

@jayredz7807 Phish I've only seen 5 times, the last time was around 2005 or something. The Grateful Dead I saw 48 times before Jerry died. I've tried a few of the incarnations without him, but it just makes me sad. I think it's great they're still playing for the kids who never saw the real thing, but it's not for me.

@@richardsiciliano7117 Understood! The early 2000s were kinda rough for Phish as their final show was to be 2004. I will always consider myself a deadhead first, although I never had the chance to see them. I was so new to the scene, and at only 15 with Jerry's passing, I eventually jumped onto Phish in 96. And since Phish and GD really sound very little alike, I can still enjoy them respectively without being concerned about any comparisons.
