This was the very first song I heard Phish play live back in 96 at that very place! Almost makes me cry, so many years appreciating this band and appreciating this music. I also think that 96 was the year that phans started the Wilson chant that opened the second set.

Made me think of that moment as well. In fact there were a few things that brought me back to that night during Friday’s show including the Cavern first set closer and the Contact encore. It was my second ever Phish show at my forever favorite concert venue and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Boy oh boy was this a fun run. First time getting to hit all three shows in a weekend, and it did not disappoint. Still reeling from that 41 min Simple, but there were lots of treats. My buddy and I were calling 2001, due to all the space references in their songs/artwork for the weekend, and when the first notes started to really hit we lost our shit. Also, getting Divided Sky with how the sky actually looked was amazing, as was that wonderful ASIHTOS they started Sunday with. I think I was most hit by the beautiful ballads though, especially Lifeboy and Dirt. What a time to be alive. See y'all at Deer Creek!!!

The type of song that got me into Phish! Elegant intro and then complete tension and release! ( the geek rock where like they would change the drum tempo mid verse like Mound from the same album) then they just jam on it at this show! I’m really into the jams and setlist so far this summer! Kind of bordering on anything can happen! I love the dark T and R your Maze,Bowie,Stash,SOAM! Where they take you to the nether regions really out there! Ive been deadicated since 1984 and happy to be able to thank my son justin GRAYSTEIN of wich he was born in 1984 and still thanks me too this day in 2024 for having the best dad/music expert on gods Gray earth... but i can never thank him enuf for making me see the light that phish is without a doubt the grateful dead and minus one drummer and minus one guitarist then multiplied by 10 thee most amazing band on earth today.... Went back to see how many times I have seen them play both tunes and there was some hot shows IMHO. MFMF Red Rocks 93, 95, Fiddlers 2000 and Dicks18. Brian and Robert 1998 Big Mac and Indio acoustic set. All fun shows for different reason☮. Indio was the best festival I have attended The Polo fields bare foot fantastic!

Dear Doniac Schvice, When did Paul Shaffer join the band? Looks like Trey is taking wardrobe ques from Mike. The days between are extreme. Is it time to sit down or take the rigging and up the sail? I’ve thrown Pennies down the well and affixed my gaze upon the stage but ended up staring at a wall. I started to run because I was told what it was but not what it is, was it for this my life I sought? Deduct the carrots from your pay You worthless swampy fools. They shaped curiosity where different faces fit before then left monsters in their heads. I wonder if the days that met were moments that were seized. I can see through the lines but I wanted you to live with me because I wanted a taste of free but the shoulder I leaned on was carved out of stone and I think I was done freezing and landed to reform. I think one day I wrote a letter and confessed what I had seen. But man, when you were there with me and still are, I’ve always trusted you to lead the way because when you’re not I always go astray. Bummed is what I am when people say I’m crazy watching the wheels go round and round. So I guess I’m going to keep running like an antelope because the latch was left unhooked. I love you phish and always will. Sorry for the letter.
