Once there was a song called Simple. Phish played this song on 8/29/14, and out of the jam portion of this song came the birth of No Men in no Man's land. A song that would not see its debut till 2015.

I recall a bumper sticker making its way around lot Fall Tour 95, it read We got it Simple. Not many people got it or our scene back then (it was much smaller) but we truly believed that all we need was to just get to one more show and it'll be alright. It wasn't always, but that too was okay as well.

And that's why Simple is my favorite phish song. Once I got it live at MSG for the first time it was where I truly fell in. I had fallen in love with them before but the way everything seemed to make sense in that moment, I could cry just thinking about it. I relish getting simple live, yeah. But those lyrics "we've got it simple cause we've got a band, trey's guitar solo, so poignant in the moment. We really do have it simple. It encapsulates why we keep coming back. In those short hours where we're in the same room as them and we all get together, and everything makes sense. Bliss. We're lucky to be alive at the same time as these geniuses.

Where's the video for this? It has my favorite moment when side camera shows them all step forward into the jam as it starts. Perfectly shows their leadless 3.0 sound. Phish had it up for a long time then it dissappeared😮. Thanks for posting so we atleast have the sound.

Ok this is exactly why I quit going to the shows. I used to love Treys guitar work for this song. Now it's almost as if they just loop the same riffs for 10+ minutes. There is no breakout Jam. No real soloing going on. they just kind of dancing around each other with their instruments until they get tired of it & decide to end the song. Is so very frustrating for me. I hate to say it but I can't help but to wonder if it's just the simple fact that Trey was a better guitarist when he was loaded.
