My devotion is split down the middle. Saw my first Dead show in 87 at MSG. Was blessed to be a part of their late career renaissance, which in my opinion started to fade in 92. The baton for life changing live shows was handed off in late ’91 when I saw my 1st PH at the Capitol in Port Chester, NY. It’s the preverbal apples and oranges.Jerry was more prone to tickle my heartstrings where Trey melted my face. Thank god Trey and co have adopted a healthy lifestyle. They will be @ for a long time.

@@lokispeicher8103To each their own of course, but I don't understand why people loathed Vince so badly. I absolutely love the sounds and grooves he brought to the table. Not the same as with Brent, but just more different interesting sounds and feelings. Same as with all their keys players. I'm just infatuated with the different kinds of Dead they helped produce.

@@grecorobert97 I appreciate your positivity brother! Excellent way to look at things. Did you ever wonder why Vince was never included in any of the post-Jerry incarnations? Chimenti and Barraco (sp?) aren't complaining about said omission I reckon....Samba In the Rain? Way To Go Home? nope...Ok in light of your positive spin I will admit that I did rather enjoy his take on Tomorrow Never Knows...I was so on "team Brent" that there's a good chance that I would have rejected anyone trying to fill his seat now that I think about it...One Love

Trey def played off his TAB 2000/2001/2002 jazzy influenced band and brought that tone to 2.0. I myself love the Trey tone from later 1.0 but prefer Gordon's sound in 2.0. I remember hearing that he canned the ross compressors which was what boosted his tone to cut through the mix. I'm still very found of 2.0 even though it was very hit or miss. If it hit, it slapped, if it was a miss it was horrible.
