There is media-driven popularity and then there is fan-based popularity. The former is designed to generate wealth for a record label for about 1-3 years before the name disappears altogether. The latter isn’t designed to make money, per se. It is for niche groups of people who come together to enjoy music as a community. And that’s what bands like Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic and Phish are all about-albeit with some mainstream tunes.

To think it's 2021 and these guys still rock this hard, still play the way they do...I can never thank them enough. They've meant so much to me in my life, my sobriety, my own music(although it sounds nothing like Phish, they're still my favorite band)...They're not coming to Chicago this year but that's ok, these videos are pretty sick. I might just have to say fuck it and head to Deer Creek tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday though..

Been listening to phish since high school 2000 and finally in my late 30s was fortunate to go to some shows this July will be my 6th this tweezer just blows my mind on how they are so dialed in in their late 50s it’s like there’s so much more to come 17:17 from them I can’t wait for that Sunday show in Syracuse this year 2023 Baby!!! Never miss a Sunday show✊✊
