OMG I spit out my drink! “Popcorn and pee pee” and then the ick rolling dog’s stamp of approval … I’m dead! I have one of those dogs too - he’ll find a cat pee patch or dead something spot in the grass and roll around happy as a clam - he did that on Wednesday RIGHT AFTER bringing them home from the groomers!!!! I needed that laugh as I sit here trying to work and get out of holiday mental state and do “real work” again. Still waiting on the vanilla one to be reviewed but had to comment immediately after that dog spot.

Thank you for your honesty. I thought it was just me that wasn't impressed. Whenever I test Phlur in Sephora it's so obviously one of those houses that make frags that smell great in store with great openings. Most ppl are spraying these in store, smelling how great the opening is and buy it. I would prefer to get Bath and Body Works body sprays over a lot of offerings in Sephora.

I do absolutely agree with you, Chris, about the perfumes from Phlur. I've tried four scents of the brand: Apricot privée, Lost cause, Not your baby and Missing person. The only one I can tolerate is Apricot privée, but even this suffers from what I consider the main problem of this brand: they smell SOOO SYNTHETIC! I cannot find anything realistic in the perfumes I've tried and that makes me so disappointed with the brand. Besides, the lack of longevity, projection and all the olfactory qualities that make a good scent are characteristic of Phlur. Many thanks for being so honest, probably more people than you think share your take on this brand.

Not Your Baby is one of my desert island fragrances and you're not losing me for sure! Scent is so subjective (for example I am a br540/saffron hater, smells like the dentist to me) and it's smelly water at the end of the day. If anything the honesty builds trust!

I loved this! Finally someone who isn’t obsessed with every phlur release. Lol I personally love their vanilla skin body Mist of everything I’ve tried, I also enjoy my travel of Ameline and mood ring but I didn’t understand the big hype around missing person or strawberry letter. Always on the lookout for a slightly sweet smoky vanilla like B&BW marshmallow fireside. If By The Fireplace was a tad less smoky it would be perfect.

I love your videos and I also love vanilla even though I have to make do with what I already own, which is lots of perfumes. However, I have been into this perfume obsession for many years as I am certain I am probably one of the oldest subscribers on this channel. . Nevertheless, I hope to continue being a subscriber despite the fact that I am older than all of your other subscribers. I miss my frivolous days of buying so many perfumes, especially because I can no longer do that, but I am glad that I still have some of them, even if they are now old. However, in retrospect, even new fragrances will eventually be old as everything else. So I say use what you already have until you use up all of them. Hopefully, we all eventually only own what we love and what what works for you.

I love all the notes listed, except I realized that I'm not a fan of Mimosa and that was ALL that I could smell in that fragrance. It was just fine that it didn't last longer than 4 hours on me.

Your honesty is refreshing! Not Your Baby is exactly like JM Mimosa and Cardamom to me too. I thought I loved them! But just like you said, it’s only the opening note. The dry down is dusty or something or maybe popcorn and pee 😂 Also Missing Person has a nauseating feel to it on my skin, though I often love musk notes in perfumes.

I love Missing Person, I don’t smell it on myself almost instantly, but I get compliments hours later, so it must smell good and people can smell it on me. I also get little wafts, but very subtle. I love Tangerine Boy on my husband and he uses citrus lotion to enhance longevity. Not your baby smelled so good on paper, and became sour on skin, like when a baby drinks milk and it gets stuck in their neck rolls and they smell like a baby, but also sour sweet milk and they need their neck cleaned 😆

Hi Chris! I haven’t tested many Phlur fragrances. I have a travel spray of missing person, I can smell it and I find it nice and cozy but it’s very similar to the CO Bigelow musk oil that I really like and that’s only $18 and it lasts longer!

I think this is a totally fair assessment of the brand. I think some will find a scent within the line that grabs them (for me, it’s apricot privée, I absolutely love it), but most of the scents feel like filler. Clearly they’ve had great success with marketing and mass appeal, though, so more power to them. I also really like their Vanilla Skin body mist and just bought a travel size of the new EDP and have been enjoying it so far. For me, Phlur is always worth a smell but I don’t get my hopes up.

…also, I can’t smell Missing Person at ALL…like…AT ALL. Even when first spraying. Not on a blotter, not on my skin. I actually bought the supposed dupe from Fine’ry (Without a Trace) which I can smell and has great longevity, especially for the price. So if anyone likes the idea of Missing Person but can’t smell it or doesn’t appreciate the longevity, Without a Trace is like $35 . And so nice for bed time 🥰

I am on the NO side for Phlur, which was a disappointment, many smell great but no longevity. I find them to be even worse than body sprays. I was on a skin scent kick and got Missing person but it reminds me of absolutely no one....lol. Great video, honesty is refreshing!

I’m with you on this brand, Chris. I’ve tried a discovery set, a deluxe trio, and a few other samples, and outside of Tangerine Boy (agree-it’s delicious), I’m just unimpressed overall with the brand’s offerings so far. It reminds me a lot of Ellis Brooklyn, which I also haven’t found a good, long lasting fragrance from. Luckily, as we know, there are so many other brands out there! I have soft spot, mood ring, strawberry letter and vanilla skin (edp). Vanilla skin is the only one that last and projects beyond a few hours ❤️.

I like this video. For a hundred plus bucks, I think a fragrance should be very nice. Years ago I would spend big money on fragrances and be very disappointed then I was stuck with a big purchase that I wouldn't use. I love your channel because you seem to be well educated take on the fragrances and give your honest opinion. I would rather have an honest opinion than a politically correct one. I have in this last year learned what type of fragrances I like and what to stay away from (its hard work!). By the way I bought a few fragrances from your store at Jomashop and look forward to receiving them. I was influenced by your recent video where you were wearing the green silk shirt. I have discovered that I like Arabian fragrances and I originally learned about them from you. I also bought Coco Shimmy from SNIF and looking forward to receiving it, sounds like a fun summer fragrance. Be well!

Oh thx for the follow up! One of the nice things about Snif is they include a tester with your bottle so you can try that first and if you don’t like the tester you can return the unopened full bottle. ❤️

Phlur in a Blur what a cute title!! 😍 I guess I didn’t realize how many Phlur scents I hadn’t tried yet! I do have a travel size of Father Figure (such a clever name) that I am really enjoying right now but it is so close to Ellis Brooklyn Sunfruit in the dry down. Although that “glossier you type” opening does make it special though! I have a 5ml deluxe sample of Tangerine Boy and I agree it’s kind of a cool scent, but I wouldn’t purchase it. Two years ago I bought a travel size of Not Your Baby and I absolutely hated it, it went straight back.. a very sickeningly sweet putrid scent to me 🙊🤭😆 I’ve had Phloria on my Sephora wishlist for so long I forgot it was even there, so thank you for saving me the trouble of trying it and having to return it! 😅😅 I also recently got a sample of their newest, Soft Spot which is quite pretty and musky however there’s a lot of jasmine in it so it ends up just like any other pretty girly jasmine-centric scent to me. 😊 Now as much as I love and adore missing person, I have had a lot of people come over to sniff perfumes, and most of them cannot smell this one, so you are not alone! I really like my Phlur fragrances, but I can understand how others may not. They are my favorite when I want a soft fragrance without much projection. I love Not Your Baby, and I can still smell it on my clothes hours later. The first time I wore Missing Person it brought me back to my childhood, so it holds a special place, although it didn't last at all on me either. I am also enjoying Soft Spot and Vanilla Skin Body Spray (which actually has good performance for a body spray). I haven't tried them all, but once I'm done with these I'm not sure I'll repurchase them, even for office days.

Oh my gosh, I agree with you! No matter how much I tried, I could not get into the brand. Tangerine Boy is the only perfume I connected with but not enough to purchase a bottle. I thought I was one of the only people who felt the brand did not live up to the hype. I’m not alone! 😀

I just love your top! Looks like a tunic, maybe? It’s really hot here too. It’s day 5 of a 9 day stretch of over 100 degree weather. I haven’t tested any Phlur. I’ve been wearing my fave hot summer day fragrances…Nicolai Fig Tea, Petit Matin, Essentric Molecule 02, Anima Vinci Tudo Azul, Matiere Premiere Parisian Musc, iProfumi di Firenze Brezza di Mare, Pierre Guillaume Le Musc & La Peau. I have many citruses too but those are for another day!

Missing Person is so beautiful and on me it lasts a good 6 hours. Not sure if people may go asnomic to it. I love this and I can attest to the fact that it can last on some people. It’s a bit overpriced in CAD though.

That's so funny, I think this really shows everyone gets a slightly different experience based on body chemistry - I have Phloria in a travel spray and on me the dry down is a beautiful coconut and vanilla. Totally agree on the other scents though. Couldn't find the scents to father figure or missing person, I thought someone had replaced the testers with water at Sephora. Tangerine Boy is great- I apply either a vanilla perfume oil or one spritz of vanilla 28 under it and it sticks better. But yeah.. probably wouldn't buy it full size. Thanks for the thorough review!

I have bought 3 scents from Phlur: Missing Person, Tangerine Boy and Somebody Wood. When I smelled them in-store, I really liked them, but by the third or fourth wear, my mind had totally changed. Missing Person is just too bland for the price, gave that one away pretty quick. Tangerine Boy started to make me nauseous when I wore it. First sniff is great, every additional one became torture. Thankfully the smell was gone pretty fast, so that was a plus lol. Somebody Wood was going to be a workhorse for me in the fall but it faded so fast that I just wasn’t reaching for it at all during the season. While I’ve been tempted to buy another whenever I see them on sale, I’ve come to the conclusion that Phlur just isn’t a brand that’s for me.

Hey Chris! Have you tried the vanilla skin body mist (or any other body mists) from phlur? To me, vanilla skin is one of their best scents and lasts probably longer than a lot of their perfumes 😆 much better price too!

I haven’t. Frankly I think I’m done with this house. It’s just not for me. I considered trying the new Vanilla Skin but I didn’t want to waste any more of my money. Great, Great video! I really appreciate your honest opinions! I am one of those who like Missing Person, but it does not last at all as far as I could tell. But, those around me could smell it and they liked it. I did reapply later in the day and that seemed to last a bit longer. It reminds me of the Le Monde Gourmand 000 perfume - it has to be reapplied throughout the day. But the Le Monde Gourmand fragrance is significantly less expensive. What would recommend as a longer lasting scent similar to Missing Person and Tangerine Boy?

It is so funny to me that Missing Person was so short-lived for you. I havent gotten my nose on it yet but I was recently in Target and figured I'd try the Fine'ry dupe which is called Without a Trace. I sprayed it on one arm and then the pistachio scent on my other arm. I shopped for no more than 10 mins and Without a Trace was GONE. Disappeared haha. Pistachio was going strong and developing. I was like this can't be!?! I went back and sprayed it again and left. Got home 15 mins later and sure enough it was non-existent. So, they clearly did a great job of duping the original and like the name's suggest...missing and without a trace lol.
