Even without leads, this could be a cheaper alternative to chest minecarts if you had them go along a water stream. Benefit over just dumping items directly in the stream is that there's no risk of despawning. Do we know yet how boats with chests interact with hoppers?

Parity with that would be nice. Bedrock getting to stand on boats and not take fall damage im them. And java getting the ability to pull them around (can we also put banners on boats sometime?). Maybe a furnace boat burns fuel to run faster than a normal without rowing. Maybe long boats that fit 3 or 4 entities then a double chest boat could work. Ender chest boat? Shulker boat? Hopper In a boat? Long boat with bed? Long furnace boat with bed?

@@cloaker7237 well yeah 64 placed blocks are well over 1 minecraft player, 64 placed blocks are the equivalent to 32 players, so realistically each character should take up only a 32th of a slot, meaning 1728 players should actually fit in a double chest, meaning someone could pull a spongebob and have an entire server in a chest while they are begging to be released (that episode is engrained in me but all the people of that town, i forgot, were in a damn pickle jar or somethin because of a belt??)

In a chest, he takes up 1 slot, which means he’s 1/64 of a cubic meter while inside it. When he enters the chest, he shrinks from .062 cubic meters (average volume of a person). Just attach a lead to it, and then hop into another boat, you can drag an « infinite » number of double chest boats behind you when navigating. Pretty useful when you need to move you stuff to your other base.

The chest opens up vertically, you sit inside the chest which removes the middle 5x5 of storage, you can either not see straight ahead or the boat slows down due to the chest creating drag force.

There's a flaw in Mojang's design for the boat with a chest. you can take a donkey (or llamas) strap chest on him and put him in the boat. you don't lose playerspace because your friend can ride the donkey while the donkey rides in the boat with you. while also gaining additional storage, assuming it works like a Minecart with a chest breaking the boat is going to drop all the loot inside making it more of a burden than a benefit

A double chest can fit 54 stacks of 1 m^3 blocks of dirt which equals to one large block of 12m x 12m x 24m = 3456 m^3 size, so 54 players should fit easily into that. Minecraft double chests are like a couch, little 2 m^3 black holes where you find out that they are able to contain a massive amount of items once you are desperately looking for your car keys.

just get another boat with one chest, place a lead on the double chest boat (yes u can do that in vanilla bedrock Minecraft) and get in the normal chest boat, now u have 3 chests and a space for you! or ofc if u wanna bring along a friend just get rid of the chest in the boat you're using

In bedrock,you can move boats with leads.so you can move your entire house block by block with boats with chests.

It's useful that boat with double chest that if you do F3 + B key you can see a gap of sides if you block it it's good to use as a hidden chest
