Yeah, but we went for Khmer New Year and the prices were not that low.

@@itchyfeetonthecheap : yeah you are right, I flew in last May I was glad to be back I tell you! I paid 70 dollars flew over the Tonle Sap at about 5000 metres, amazing flight, I think now it has leveled out at 90 dollars, a bit pricey but worth it for just the experience. All the best to you and your lass, I hope to return in a couple of months. Siem Reap is amazing but not many jobs there though, the schools for example want you to volunteer, they are used to the Barang going over there and offering their help for free.

We have relatives that spend 8 months out the year in Phnom Penh and 4 months in Seattle, they are very wealthy and their day to day life there is that of the rich. We subscribe to your channel to keep a feel of what (kind of) they are experiencing and because you (Ryan) are very talented, creative, and most importantly of all funny! In your "Apartment tour - Phnom Penh - One Year In" Sarah can be heard saying "no I don't think there's anything to tell these idiots". Edit that kind of comment out of your videos we were surprised that you did not.... it was very insulting... Also "The Graduate" surely there is some film of more significance that you can display in your background 🙃We will continue to work our way through your content and will continue to sub. We hope that you are not offended by our advice.

Sorry you were offended by that comment. Sara was just joking. Also, the Graduate is one of the best movies ever made.

Apparently, the new airport at Siem Reap is still an hour drive to the city center anyway.

Gotta say that was a deluxe rickshaw with the fan in it!! Never seen that myself. I took the boat once from phnom Phen to Siem Reap and fell asleep on the deck and got a racoon eye sunburn!! Good times. Happy Travels

Is there a bus that you can get from Phnom Penh international airport to siem reap?

We did the IBIS bus from SR to PP several years ago. The ride was comfortable and mostly convenient. But the driver made several "unscheduled" drops and pick ups along the way. I bet those undocumented passengers were money in his pocket. Watch out for the occasional cows and dogs that wander onto the road and the driver had to swerve or brake to avoid hitting them. We did the mini bus/van on our way from PP to SR. I agree that it was cramped and loud since we were packed so close to other passengers. The AC wasn't adequate during the extreme heat and full capacity. It felt long and difficult to nap. Did mention the cows? LOL Either way, traveling by land does offer to view of the rural lifestyle.

Usually get a crappy kung fu movie in the bus. Most memorable trip was the boat from Siem Reap to Battambang. I wanted to take one from PP. Is that possible?
@itchyfeetonthecheap Жыл бұрын
There is a boat from PP to SR, but it's a 3 day cruise... I think. We took that boat from Battambang to SR 10 years ago. It was great for me, but Sara had food poisoning and spent the entire ride with her head down.

Depends if you like your shorts short. I haven't had to buy pants here yet, but I imagine that would be quite difficult.
