PHOBOS - Unreleased Doom Eternal E3 Demo Track

So sorry about how long this took, I do this in my spare time as a hobby and I really struggled to get this to a state I was happy with.
Thank you to everyone who messaged asking where this was, I saw each comment and it did push me to finally finish this.
Hopefully it was worth the wait, and hopefully the next one doesn't take over a year to release.

This is absolutely fucking incredible. Micks style is nailed perfectly. The only gripe I have is that a lot of the instruments sound like they're compressed, things like the drums and bass don't stand out as much as I'd hope. It kinda lacks that "punch" ya know? Still though, fantastic work. Absolutely worth the time and effort put into it.

Oh wow, someone finally managed to recreate this! I will never get over how we got to hear a snippet of Mick's original Super Gore Nest 264 BPM song, but we never got to hear the official version of this in any capacity outside of the Quakecon demo. You did a really good job!

Finished Horde mode earlier and just visiting some DOOM ost reactions for fun. Thought I'd revisit the QuakeCon gameplay OSTs and bloody hell, this is a really good interpretation of what the final ost could sound like. The guitars, the synth basses and the wailing synth leads are all practically just as you'd hear then in-game

@@AlbertrechArt No worries 🔥. Each time I listen to it I realise this remake does more than just mimic the type of sounds Mick uses. Particularly in the intro, the level of reverb matches that of the original, as if the track is being "heard outside on Phobos". You then also have that whirring tone also in the intro playing a back & forth melody, like a signal trying to tune in just like in the original. I think given more time Mick may have appreciated the beta versions as less distracting & could've used them in the final game to some degree. The originals do sound a little out of Mick's prime mixing / mastering standards. Hence he probably ditched them for something more reasonable. Phobos was about a chaotic atmosphere & 264bpm was basically zip around the arena airborne.

Given all the shit that happened with Mick (Marty decided to fuck Mick over because he'd rather come out looking like a good guy than actually take responsibility [Simplest way I can put it. Read Mick's post/statement/response on Medium if you want the full details]), It's awesome to see remnants of his work on doom eternal be archived/restored by creators like you. Thank you sir. I remember watching the trailers and promos for this game a hundred times over I was so excited for it, this track I was really disappointed it wasn't in the game but BFG 10,000 was a decent replacement. There's tracks I really wished were either on spotify or in the game and this was one of them. Thanks for preserving/recreating this. The work that mick did on this game should not ever be forgotten/taken for granted. It should be remembered as a masterpiece that graced doom eternal with it's presence. Not a botched release that was only available with a collectors edition (most of it wasn't even done by him as you'd know).
