I think actors and writers are way more multidimensional than how we experience them on television. People usually get typecast, and we don't actually WANT to see them in any other light than what we're used to. I feel like Phoebe Waller-Bridge challenges this in the coolest way. However, I also think that's part of why she didn't want to do Killing Eve. It seems to me like she likes pulling the strings behind the curtain, and she also understands society very well. Hence why she decided not to go on Instagram

Fleabag is the most outstanding writing I've seen on TV in a very long time. Fleabag is what happens when a writer has the talent, but also the know-how and craftsmanship to pull off and actualize that talent. It's magnificent in every single way. Bravo to PWB and everyone involved in that, but mainly to Phoebe because she's the heart and soul of every line and every frame.

I also grew up a tomboy and when someone called me a boy or referred to sthng I did as “man’s job”, I felt proud..being called a girl or girlie was shameful..now in my 30s and listening to women from various generations feeling the same.. I feel a little bad. Probably we “girls” were scared to be pigeon holed into what normal girl future trajectories and opportunities were, and still are, we didn’t want to be identified as girls 🤔

It’s refreshing to hear women discuss their rejection of gender norms during their formative years as part of a normal transition to womanhood. We should give young boys the same freedoms of expression. I think this social experiment Should be over where we slap the “trans” label on everyone who has ever experimented with gender. I tend to think rather than being quick to “fix” people with therapy, hormones, or surgery, we ought to let young people play out the natural course of development and fix society’s reaction to it. Heck, even into adulthood... who cares how people identify.
