You are on the right track with dangling the gourds as they grow, they will come out straight and round, great for making instruments. When grown on the ground they will be misshaped and be prone to premature rot.

Phoebe that’s great picking I enjoy your KZbin channel. I can’t hardly wait till the next Friday. Let me say this about your gourds. It takes six months to a year for a Gord to dry out to where you can make something out of it depending on what kind of cord it is so it’s I process that takes a little time. You can’t just grow and cut them off the bin and be ready to carve or make anything out of they must dry out.

Now that is only slightly chilly. We played for a contra dance this evening. It was -32F when we carried the sound system to load into my car after the dance. happily it was warmer at my house. -10F. Your tune left me fretless so I thank you. Goodnight.

Yes. As a gardener, you can make compost ,which is nutritional soil , using your chicken poop and straw and other garden clippings in layers. Look it up for more detail. You might like to make a nice compost box. When it's rotted down and the worms get in it, it makes a great medium for growing plants. And love the plants. They know. It helps. Mx London UK
@martinStevens-ni7wx2 күн бұрын
You can use discarded vegetable waste from the kitchen too. Put in four 2x2 posts in the ground then use four by one planks around to make a cube with big air gaps. Put in layers of organic waste and grass clippings and so on and let the worms climb in to digest it. After about a year you have a great growing medium. M

In Dallas we've been doing this early music new year's since the early 90s, and we sing an auld lang syne at midnight with the same tune, but different words, discovered from an old early 20th century shape-note hymnal. It's DELIGHTFUL! "Hark from the Tomb, a doleful sound, mine ears attend the cry: Ye living men, come view the ground where you must shortly lie!"

Oh my giddy aunt! I am so excited for the dulcimer Love the hat, I have old ties and am inspired! 🌱start the gord seeds indoors and then transplant outdoors, cover in alot of mulch to hold in moisture for longer. 🪱 You can even put down like 6pc of newspaper and like 3-4 inches of mulch, like wood chip, water well. and the trellis is an awesome idea. It would look so Gord-eous in the yard, 🙃sorry lol.

Pa Ingalls used to sing to Mart and Laura: Old Grimes is gone, that fine old man. We'll never see him more. He used to wear a long grey coat, All buttoned down a-fore. The beautiful hat, is a beanie, Love the song and the whole ensemble Chickens and the yard and of course It's always good to see/hear you. I personally like light gauge strings they have a brighter sound and put less tension on the banjo. I have them on all my banjos except one it's nylon I don't play the dulcimer but all steel strings get brittle with age. Frail on
