Friends... I have discovered that listening to Phoebe's videos in the background is just superb. A dog saying hello, and then a whistle... it's pure magic. A production crew could 'try' to fabricate what she has and not get it right!

@Green232323232Ай бұрын
Aaron Copeland popularized it, but it’s an older shaker hymn song. There are shakers and ‘friends of shakers’ still at the last active community in Maine, and I am certain they will be singing this song tomorrow.

Ooohhhhh that beautiful smile is so lovely to see! Happy Thanksgiving! You are definitely talented and fun to watch. Growing up watching Hee Haw, Roni Stoneman was my favorite banjo player. She went Home to be with the Lord earlier this year. When I heard she past I started watching her on KZbin and found you. What a blessing you are to us who enjoy banjo music. Thank you for lifting our spirits with your warm, fun personality and musical skills. I really really enjoyed watching the videos of your new claw-hammer guitar. So fun to watch you unpack and experiment with it live and raw. The joy on your face was contagious! I could not stop smiling! Thank you for sharing your learning experiences! Priceless!!!

Tis a gift to be simple, Tis a gift to be free. That first song is so similar to other songs like that, I'll Fly Away, Power in the Blood, What a Friend, Don't feel at home in this world anymore, they would make a great Medley is you could combine them. Merry Christmas. There was a fellow at the Nimble Fingers music camp that had a jig doll that he had attached an elastic to his right hand and the doll danced as he played. His name is Bruce Ziff and he was from Edmonton Alberta, but he lives bumming around the Galax area.

HA! I just saw this, and.... I just put a pie in the oven, and Im getting ready to make some mini-pies in a tiny muffin pan. Here's a recommendation, if you are adventurous in your tastes: instead of traditional pumpkin spice try what I call my seedcake spice. It is cardamom, fennel, and caraway. Grind the cardamom fine, but smash up the other seeds just enough to break them up a little bit and bruise them a lot. Cardamom is too hard to chew, but fennel and caraway seeds are a textural adventure in your mouth. The proportion is 1 cardamom, 2 fennel, 4 caraway. I use 1 tsp cardamom, 2 tsp fennel, and 4 tsp caraway for one pie. Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

This was originally a Shaker hymn from the 1800s: verse: 'Tis a gift to be simple, 'tis a gift to be free, 'Tis a gift to come round where we ought to be; And when we find ourselves in the place just right, 'Twill be in the valley of love and delight. refrain: When true simplicity is gained, To bow and to bend we shan't be ashamed; To turn, turn, will be our delight. Till by turning, turning we come round right. Then, in 1963, Sydney Carter wrote new lyrics for the tune. It has five verses, with the refrain after each. Here is just the refrain: Dance, dance, wherever you may be I am the Lord of the dance, said He And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said He Here’s a good recording of the song, with a great picture of Jesus dancing with His people: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJPZYn6dZqigj80
