mentioned in the comment reply to someone some hiccups I've had, but (copied from a previous reply): There are a few hiccups I've noticed like an app like Google maps or KZbin randomly minimizing and you have to click it to expand again or if the truck is off and you open the door to get something and close the door, a few seconds the radio will come on. I haven't contacted customer service about it but it is annoying because you have to turn the truck on and off to turn the radio back off. I don't start the engine, just turn the key for a few seconds and then back off. In the end, I give it about 8/10 stars for that and overall i still love it, especially since you lose nothing--still have satellite radio and back up cam for example. Oh also, my + and - for the fan speed for climate control doesn't work, but I haven't looked at setting it up or calling customer service about it because I can still use the touch screen controls from the radio interface which matches the stock radio to control it.

Yeah I have that issue too, have to turn the key on and off. I haven't talked to customer service about it yet. Also the fan button for the climate doesn't work but the touch screen control does. I've lived with it for now but that's something to discuss. Everything else seems good.

Yes, the backup camera does work, plug and play. It was easy.

So i bought this exact unit for my canyon. Only issue im having is my stock radio plays music but i get no sound for KZbin or any other app out of the unit. Any settings or anything i might be missing?

Yes, you need to plug in the 3.5mm jack dongle thing they gave you into your 3.5mm jack in your center console. If you don't have it, you can use another one I'm sure. This makes the radio think you have something plugged in and then hit your source button on your steering wheel until you hear your KZbin or Internet Explorer videos, etc.

So I'm curious, what's you're reasoning for installing? I have a '16 Colorado with the 8in screen, and mine is having the "ghost touch" issue where it just starts doing random things, traveling to random places on GPS, and so forth. I'm wanting to make sure that this doesn't work off of the same HMI unit as the factory radio, because then I'm not sure it would do me any good. Also, does this work with Bose? Sorry for the bombardment of questions. Radios for these trucks are just not very appealing, and a 7in double din setup just looks weird compared to what the factory radio is. I have to do something though - the ghost has almost rendered my radio useless.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I wanted to install this for a lot of reasons. Watching KZbin, weather apps, or whatever. Main thing is i love being able to use this unit with the GPS on a bigger screen and never have to mess around connecting my phone to it or use my phone for something draining the battery. All I do is connect my hotspot from one of my phones to use the units features. I also like that it keeps the OEM look on the screen and you could even still use the OEM maps. I also hated paying a gps upgrade for the OEM maps. So using the Google maps app, it's free updates of course. Yes it is working with Bose and my Bose stock system that came with Colorado. As far as your ghost issue, i don't have that issue all the time. A few times an app will close or go somewhere else but not sure why it happens. It could be if you start playing with it before it warms up and gets fully started. But that's only if the vehicle sat for awhile. Otherwise, I have the fast boot and if you drive regularly, i don't notice it happening. Sometimes the climate control fan buttons don't always work but normally they do. Again, probably because I didn't let the system fully start up before pressing apps or opening maps or whatever. I would recommend this larger full screen than another 7in double DIN for that reason you mention.

Do you have the 6 core or the old one? I got mine years ago now, and playing audio through the unit instead of the built in bluetooth is horrid. My steering wheel is an OEM replacement with the media controls, but it doesn't work with the unit. I wonder if that's due to the PCM. I'd say the unit is pretty decent though. I am picking up the blindspot camera kit (2 channel rca car camera automatic control module switch box) and some cameras soon.

The one I ordered is: [ PX6 SIX-CORE ] 12.1" Android 9 Fast boot Vertical Screen Navigation Radio for Chevrolet Colorado GMC Canyon 2015 - 2018 × 1 I haven't had too many problems like you're having, mainly the problem is the unit coming on and not turning off when the car is off when I open a door. My steering wheel controls do work, but they are the originals and not the OEM replacement. Your issue could be related to that, may need to either reach out to Phoenix or the OEM unfortunately. The unit I agree is pretty decent as far as easiest hook up and working pretty good out of the box.

Hi, thanks for watching. Sorry, I'm an Android guy but the iPhone works with apple carplay, just need the app. Basically this thing turns your radio into a tablet. I rarely connect my phone to it, if at all because you can stream KZbin or use Pandora, Spotify or whatever if you wanted. Can also surf the web. So far I have no regrets. @@ryanleavengood5925 sorry lol I didn't give you the right answer since I'm not using the apple carplay. But I checked their FAQs, I guess they don't use it. Here's what they say: phoenixautomotiveinc.com/pages/faq Do Android radios support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay? Not at the moment. However, Android radios support MirrorLink. You can connect iPhone or Android smartphones, and display their screen on the radio. With Android phones, you can also control your phone through the touchscreen of the radio.

You need to plug the 3.5mm dongle into your jack under the radio. Then you can hear anything from KZbin or Internet explorer for example

Nope, none other than I've mentioned about a few hiccups in the comment section. You do by the way, which i recently learned, have to have the 3.5mm dongle jack plugged into the truck to hear audio from KZbin app or internet explorer for example.

It does work with Apple iPhones. I think it's a screen mirroring thing. But I'm an Android guy. I actually never use any of the Android Auto or CarPlay because the system's so nice that I can just download apps like pandora or TuneIn radio or spotify or Google Maps, etc. Everything is on the unit so it makes it very nice. If you want texting though, it will work if you mirror your phone to it. Or the OEM system is still there to get your text messages if you like that.
