Unfortunate you have to make a law but you can't fix stupid. Common sense isn't common anymore.

Good for these heroes! People can be so selfish. Accidents are one thing, but to purposefully risk others’ lives, especially those who are just trying to help our communities, like firefighters, there’s no excuse.

I’ve been saying this for years! I live by a mountain with trails and the FD is always over there rescuing people every summer! Use common sense people especially with your animals!

I agree they should add stupid hikers to the "Stupid People Law"! This law states that anyone that needs rescue due to them attempting to drive into flooded roads, will be charged for their rescue!

Also, we could give REAL TEMPS. 115, NO more accurate 140. That same day, the rescue chief had an infrared thermometer. Pointed at that trail it was 130F.

Why aren't those tasked with rescuing people drinking enough water? That seems elementary to me.
@ofunelewa17473 жыл бұрын
At 115 carrying the gear fire fighters carry , plus carrying two gallons of water to have enough to drink (following your advice) , uphill in a mountain, in a hurry because someone is suffering a medical emergency.... do we really think it’s just a matter to drink enough water? 🤔🤔🤔

There are days when the desert gets so hot muggy and miserable it doesn't matter how much water a person drinks even if you are healthy I don't care who you are you will have heat related issues and especially wearing long pants carrying full gear, it's almost a task too difficult to ask of anyone but these brave rescuers are willing to put their life at risk anyway to help those who are selfish or ignorant that it's not a good idea to hike in extreme heat.

I just want to say that last year I bought an electric mountain bike and one thing I noticed was that I could handle much higher temps while riding it. I did the Desert Classic when it was 114 and had no issues. I did go through 4 liters of water and used electrolyte tablets but I felt OK at the end of the ride. If they do enact a policy change I would hope there is an exception for eBikes on the trails.

No one should be out in this kind of heat. I say close them down if the forecast calls for 110 degrees or above. We have plenty of beautiful hiking days other times of the year. It's not fun with super high temps.

They should develop a practical air conditioned 'space suit' for forced walking outside on days like this out in the sun.

Hike at your own risk! If you can't take the heat don't hike! This is BS they are telling us when we can hike.

@angeladansie43783 жыл бұрын
Their job is to rescue people in an emergency, not follow morons around & save them from their own stupid actions. If they close the trails, then when these idiots receive their Darwin awards, their families can't sue the firefighters for not rescuing them from their own stupidity
