If they didnt trash places and bring drugs and violence..... people might be more compassionate. They bring it on themselves.

I simply don't understand why people choose to live on the street. There are help wanted signs everywhere. This person looked perfectly healthy to me. I raised 3 sons alone. At times worked 2 jobs and a part time gig. I kept a roof over their heads, food on the table and the lights on. We were poor, but not homeless or hungry. I have NO regrets for working hard. They are all successful, hardworking men now. I'm very proud and happy for them.

It’s not about working inflation and high rent has made it impossible for some to pay up. I make 980 a week my rent it 1300 for a one bedroom half my money goes to rent the other half goes in utility bills. I have a wife and daughter to feed if it wasn’t for my family helping with groceries we would probably be evicted and sitting right there beside them

Your children are hardworking and educated because their parent taught them so. That doesn’t mean that privilege is available to everyone. Some people are figuratively born from the dirt, with absolutely no advantages. In addition, the cost of living is tremendous and difficult for most individuals in America. Im sorry but just because you worked hard and kept a roof over your head does not mean you have all the solutions to poverty. Just because this man seems he is in good health does not indicate anything. It’s called perspective.

Being homeless is nobody’s first choice… you do what you can with the options you have. You say he looks healthy, I say he looks malnourished, and being on the streets you’re unable to keep up with your hygiene in the same way the rest of us do… imagine what showing up to your job interview dirty with old tattered clothes - probably not getting the job when there are many candidates who have it together. It’s a very deep hole to try to climb out of once you’ve been trapped in homelessness.

I’ve been living in Phoenix for over 30years, this is nothing new .. it’s like this for 100 days straight without no rain. Why is AP reporting about this like 20 years later? Need report things that are relevant and important. Not a video of every day life in Southern Arizona.

It’s very clear, actually. The previous record of days above 110°F in the Phoenix metro area was 18 days, set in 1974. This year, that record was broken, with 31 days straight of 110°F and above. No one, nor the source is denying that Phoenix is always hot, especially in the summer. However, extended periods of extreme heat are becoming increasingly common. Heat related fatalities rose 50% in Phoenix this year. This is a serious problem that people are overlooking. It’s quite easy to understand how you think this is normal, because you are likely fortunate enough to have adequate cooling systems in your home. This is the reality of global climate change. The people who are homeless, in poverty, and the most disadvantaged members of society, will ultimately bear the brunt of the impacts.

Let's say he managed to get hired as someone who is marginalized for at least 2 reasons. For the 2 to 3 weeks before his first paycheck, he'd need to figure out where to shower and wash his clothes, how to afford a work uniform, how to protect his belongings and place to sleep while at work, and where to get enough bus fare. Not to mention whatever other circumstances he's in that we don't know about because we're not walking in his shoes. Your willful ignorance directly correlates with how arrogant you are.

@@michaelobrien5891 I hitchhiked from Michigan to Florida at 16. Slept under bridges and used the showers on the beach. I had no diploma and was under minor employment laws so I had to work two part time jobs washing dishes. Till I got enough to get an efficiency (room) apt. I had $5 and some can goods and a can opener when I left my abusive home. Determination and unwillingness to quit gote thru . I worked at the swisher plant in Clearwater sweeping the floor. Till I got something better. Don’t tell me about struggle. I’ve been thru it thousands of miles from home …alone ..and a juvenile. Think again I’ve took dish soap from work and washed my clothes in a creek. How about you? It can be done
