I love how they're such a production heavy band but these songs are totally in tact while being stripped down. just goes to show they dont rely on electronic gimmicks to develop their sound. its all about enhancing what's already there.

The rhythmic idea behind 1901 is just too brilliant. How they could come up with such a natural-sounding, yet completely backwards riff just blows my mind. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix really seems apt.

I will have you know that most people around the world learn English in school. I don't find it that surprising that a non-native English speaker can write such 'complex' lyrics in English. I'm not a native English speaker either. However I will say I'm surprised by the fact that they are French and they speak good English. Most French people are terrible at English because they have a self entitled sense that they don't need it so they don't put the effort in learning it at school.

This performance kept replaying threw the thin (near non-existent) sleep that happens in the thick of withdrawing from methadone. To make things even more lame, I was in a Detroit jail cell. The beauty of the notes played by these Saints gave me the inner peace that was needed to rise again. That is the magic and power of timeless songs. Thank you PHOENIX.

Very talented group. Loved their song "Too Young" in the movie "Lost In Translation" - you can really see the talent when it's stripped down to bare instruments and voice. And do you notice how good his pitch is?

Brilliant band, stripped down and squeezed into a small space, just real music. So many dumb comments here about how they look, etc. Thomas Mars is beautiful any way you look at him, unique beautiful voice as well.
