Jean's power was still escalating at the end, she wasn't even close to her limits yet. They talked about how they were originally going to have her vaporize San Francisco as well, or cut away to some scientists seeing an enormous seismic event. Jean was pulling millions of tons of water from the ocean and would have started tearing up the ocean floor as well. She had control over matter. It wasn't that she couldn't disintegrate adamantium or overcome Logan's healing factor, but that her conscious self was trying desperately to keep him alive. His effective declaration of love for her gives Jean the strength to emerge for a moment, and it is likely the reason he was able to end it - she let him.

well said! I wisht they would have done that to show more of her absolute power. I get in this movie, phoenix was just jeans true power repressed and it formed an identify in her subconscious mind so it was still jean but just without the mental blocks but with no emotional control, but anyway i liked this movie but i wish they would have done the stuff you said to show more of how absolutely powerful she is

the movie is not that good but you've got to say there's something about those pictures at 2:14 and then 2:39 that make you want to rewatch the movie on a gigantic screen. It was 2006, I kind of feel it was the prime time for the general atmosphere of those movies. Now it would be just a silly action movie with no depth. How do you picture an endlessly powerful being? First you have the picture at 2:39 with the almost apocalypse happening around her, and then you can feel the real struggle at 2:58 when she is fighting so hard with herself, Jean with Pheonix, not to kill Logan and to let him kill her. That was what she asked of him when she woke up after he found her - kill me, before I kill anyone else.

Yep Bryan springer was unto something a bit beyond for that era but he gave us an amazing version of this phoenix ,that Jean is the dark Phoenix from her Omega level status and not one of star wars aliens possessing a mutant which I'm more inclined to be believe she is the phoenix blocked by the manipulative Charles xavier

I used the multichannel master audio file from the 4k remaster and lowered the volume of the dialogue, and then downmixed the file and added a subtle clarity filter at the end

No. They dumbed her down in like all the movies or had plot safes. She is like Superman, just so dam powerful few characters can actually fight them. Also in a lot of these super hero movies they don't have a lot of story or back story established that explains their past or powers because the movie studios did not have the rights to all relevant characters. While this scene is super cool and emotional, it's unrealistic conducive to her powers. She would've been able to kill Wolverine a billion times over with ease but obviously no wolverine no moveis.

Actually it is better that way! Cause Love was able to save her!!! U should always see the moral of a film for the real world!!! Power corrupts people. Sailor Chaos is very powerful. But someone like Sailor Moon doesn't exist. We destroying our own planet..but even if we are fully wiped out.
