Did he take both charges though? I thought he could only be charged with one as they exclude each other. He obviously has to take the murderer charge (since it's the worst of the two charges) but that means we say he was at that office and not stealing the urn. So the thefts have no culprit since both Ron and Atmey can't be charged. Ron has already been declared innocent and Atmey has been charged with something uncompatible.

Nope, he only took the murder charge. However, the real Mask⭐DeMasque was able to get off scot free-- the theft trial can't be retried-- and thus, nobody ever got caught for that crime.

I just realized. the psyche lock doesn't hold up. it was later confirmed that he himself bent it to create the allusion of being attacked. but the lock breaks when he admits to being attacked by the 'intruder'

It's never confirmed, but seemingly that was the murder weapon (blunt, and clearly used). He probably was just willing to use it on his alibi as a last resort if things come to it, so refusing to acknowledge the weapon at first, and then doing so may have been enough to break the lock, specially when said weapon did in fact knock someone out that night. Is still kind of a plot hole, but the locks aren't perfect, after all, depending of how a person define the "lie" to themselves, they sometimes may not even show off.
