We know he's the culprit right from the start. That always happens with the first case. The only exceptions I know of are Trials and Tribulations, where we're just shown young Phoenix standing over Doug Swallow's dead body, Dahlia nowhere in sight, and Apollo Justice, where we're shown a struggle going on in the Hydeout and Phoenix calling Kristoph off-screen.

Actual court cases are very boring affairs, full of routines and formal proceedings that would put most people to sleep. Trust me, i've had to sit in on one. The people who made the PW games had to design a game that contains the basics of a court proceeding, i.e judge, lawyers, testimony, the stuff even the general public knows about, and leave out all the minutiae so that they could get to the core of their game: ridiculous characters making great leaps of logic to solve fantastic and crazy cases.

the young Atheist I've searched youtube for a few court proceedings myself, no. No one would be able to just yell objection. *I think* you can only object if someone isn't following the rules or something in court proceedings. Court proceedings are a lot more "quiet". Opening statements by the prosecution can take up 55 minutes or even an entire day xD a trial can continue on for around 40 days

If the bomb exploded inside the doll, then it would have turned the doll to a burning mess of cotton and fabric! Of course it could've been extracted by the forensics team for examination.. People who want full voice acting in this game are beyond help. In a game that is 90% dialogue the voice actors pay would increase substantially. The dialogue also goes back to back constantly so if there was voice acting they'd have to remove the ability to speed up text making the game slower and making you have to deal with a constant barrage of speaking over and over again.

Actually it is because of two reasons. One: It was meant to be disarmed but wasn't. Two: It is a piece of evidence and as such they were not allowed to tamper with is since it belonged to the case. You could easily tell someone is pissed off because they are somewhat grumbling or that they are sad due to their foie being monotone as fuck. Here it's just multiplied to stupid levels for gameplay reasons. Athena is just being cringy as fuck when she says "I'm going to listen to their hearts!" Because she just does.

Can we give Apollo a salute for going above and beyond what a Defense Lawyer does? He straight up defended his client with his body. People may say all the crap about Mr. Justice, but he protected Ms. Wood not only legally but physically too. And I would be PISSED if they had killed Apollo. Darcy Rhoden My problem with both is that they seem to miss the essence of what made the Ace Attorney games great, namely, an attack on a Kafkaesque legal system. The original games are fueled by a certain pessimism. Every victory feels frail, the prosecution dominates the judge, and the full force of the law seems to be your enemy. This simply isn't true in Dual Destinies. For all the game's talk about "the dark age of the law," we never see it in action. We meet no corrupt prosecutors (save the one at the beginning), the judge is far less biased than he was in the original, and the courtroom simply feels less terrifying. The dark, aggressive intensity of the originals is replaced by a far more lighthearted, less intelligent atmosphere. Blackquill simply isn't terrifying if you've faced Edgeworth, Godot, or either of the Von Karmas. No sense of corrupt malice motivates the prosecution. There are no blackmails, backroom deals, or untouchable men.

Franzisca just beat the shit outta you, Godot makes fun of everyone, Klavier is just Klavier, Blackquill isn't terrifying but he's a mofo badass, and Sahdmahi...I still am a lil iffy on him. But there really wasn't as much corruption as you remember directly in court. Sure there were manipulative criminals but they only influenced a case. That's why I don't really have a least favorite
