You know, I just noticed the app icons showing the progress in the center of the video... cool touch! I've had the U11 for about two months now, and surprisingly, my favorite feature is the audio. USonic is as stunning as that back panel, and even the USB C headphone adapter has higher quality audio than any other 2017 flagship so far.

Hey David...just wanted to recommend a game to use in the speed test gaming row. Its called Hawk Freedom Squadron It takes some time to load and i don't think many phones keep that game running in the background, so its a really good way to test some phones

So many tech reviewers admit that Samsung's software is still not as good as others, but use it as their daily driver for the design and camera. They also often have the luxury of updating their phone every few months, so the Samsung lag isn't a big deal.

HTC 11 looks like a smartphone from back in 2012 while the S8/S8+ looks like it's from the future. Phones have gotten so fast now that the difference between them is just a few seconds apart which is actually not significant at all in real life. I'm using the S8+ for about 2 months now and boy is this phone wonderful. People are just mesmerized by it's looks and it's camera is just bonkers. Even iPhone users were thinking about making the switch to the S8+. It's a solid all around phone with best in class/cutting edge display, ridiculous battery life, amazing performance, fast and zippy day to day usage, amazing camera, great software features and more. The fact is that S8 would sell so much more than the U11. But I can't deny the fact that U11 is a ridiculously good phone too, just that HTC played it safe with the display this year. I'm just glad that Android phones outpace/match the iPhone in both performance and looks compared to 5 years back that wasn't the case.

Legit question to Phonebuff: Did you guys disable the HTC Boost+ app optimisations for the test? Because games are set for optimisation on default once they're downloaded, which keeps the game resolutions at 1080p instead of 2K. This would significantly boost the U11's times. The boost+ feature is exclusive to HTC phones and I think one of the key selling points for HTC.

You should make a video on how Samsung has been selling us inferior phones since the first Galaxy S. here's an example of what Samsung does. Like Honda did to the USA. I see every1 sayin' that Samsung phones are slow, laggy, sluggish etc. But both my S7 Edge and S8 have never performed this way. I actually think that those two are blazing fast compared to my friends' phones. It is very clear that Samsung doesn't know or doesn't want to optimize there Snapdragon variants of the S series cuz the EXYNOS versions I have/had are amazingly optimized and I'm very picky/critical.

i set my s8+ animations to .5x, downloaded a special app to disable all Samsung bloatware, sprint bloatware, bixby, as well as the touhwiz launcher; replacing it with nova launcher prime.. Phone runs great when you get rid of all the crap it comes with. Frees up a lot of ram

For flagships, they both ought to have 6 gb of RAM. Even with a lighter ROM, the U11 struggled to keep all the apps open. Not saying this is even close to realistic scenario, but for the money, I would expect better than iPhone standards nowadays.
