Yes, you can. I did it yesterday through the same method but make sure that you back up your data before downgrading because you will have to erase your data before downgrading. Also, make sure that you remember your miui account's password too.

Just my opinion: Maybe because when you are in full screen and tap fast, by mistake execute a bit gesture slide most posible in button space area and that "slide" could bring you in home screen. Poco f1 have anyway very sensitive screen. I use phone in usual mode and for gesture use FNG app setted with just right screen area swipe for back function and in left side just slide up&down for sound adjustment without fk phisical buttons. But you need to sett that app to autostart, let her without restriction so unkillable by phone task killer. Now you will have regular 3 sign buttom bar + your own gesture for back and sound at side of your display. Good luck!

i think they underclocked our devices after new miui 12 update i have tested my device couple of times after the update and it shows a relatively low score than before. xiaomi might be slowing our devices just like apple does to their old devices.
