@@klaw1 It's not drift phonk or phonk. Phonk is Memphis style rap-like beats, which started in the 90s and served as an inspiration to wave. Dark, chill, and brutal lyrics. Drift phonk is the style everyone knows and incorrectly calls phonk, with distorted kicks, the 303 cowbell melody, and looped vocals. I'm not sure what this is, but it is good. But you'd probably get away with calling it drift phonk.

Phonk has always been a genre that for me felt too hazy and there was a lack of variation in the instruments, this is so incredibly good im 110% sure its what phonk was missing. Call me biased but I think this is better than any phonk song hands down.

There's more phonk than just House Phonk and Drift Phonk. I REALLY recommend checking out the youtube channel Sad Soundcloud and the artists Dj Smokey and Soudiere. I found phonk through all of the popular songs, and even though I still like Drift Phonk (and House Phonk), I love classic phonk even more.

Any idea what the scale is though? Sounds like a natural or harmonic minor, but the key is hard to tell for me :P

The guitar riff is like 5 notes at most, and the solo that sounds arbic ia in prygian dominant(which is the fifth mode of harmonic minor, you got them ears my man) You can see it all as written in phrygian doninant with some occasional #7 sprincled in the guitar riff for those short chromatic phrases up an octave throughout the riff. Phrygian dominant is very juicy, it can sound arabic, spacy-mysterious, evil and all sorts of moods, i encourage you to learn it
