The Marantz is a bit more laid back, a bit warmer and smoother, but at times feels a bit slower, as if the pitch had dropped a bit.

This test looks like the source direct button is on with the Marantz this will have an impact as with the tone controls moved to the + side the Marantz kicks into it's beautiful sound reproduction.

I think the Marantz has that vintage sound all the way, they added the FET amp to the phono stage its the same as the 7000 now, I think that makes a huge difference. The Yamaha just seemed to bright to me especially in the higher tones. That tin can sound. But still very close. Thank you for this not many do this anymore. mp

They sound very similar maybe 98% identical. But to my ears, Marantz sounds a bit warmer than the Yamaha. I'd get whichever's cheaper here.

I honestly couldn’t hear a difference that grabbed my attention.

Both very good, but the edge to me is in the Yamaha, which has the adjustable loudness contour, giving it more flexibility. If you dial back the treble just a little and increase the loudness, you can achieve a bit of a frequency "curve" which really makes a difference, especial through a pair of Audio-Technica M50X headphones, and as of today, the Yamaha is about $150.00 less expensive. I will throw out there that I'm a little wrinkly with Yamaha for discontinuing the A-S301 model in the silver finish, which would have served me just as well at $200.00 less.

For me the Yamaha sounds better, the Marantz has digital inputs but the most important thing is the sound and the Yamaha sounds better.

Not sure how accurate the sound representation is through KZbin video. Honestly Vinyls only sound good to me on Vintage Marantz or Yamaha. And now i cannot afford the vintage stuff. Serves me right for getting rid of my vintage because I wanted a remote control. Stupidest decision ever.

wow. I am surprised how close the two are, especially when you consider the marantz had a price drop and that the yamaha can send more power out to the speakers. think I'll probably go with the yamaha to power my silver 50 6g as the front looks more similar to my current rotel. both are certainly very solid amps.

Yamaha = fidelidade sonora. Marantz = sensação de show ao vivo. Particularmente prefiro o Yamaha. Se eu quiser a sensação de um show num local aberto (estádio/arena/praça), prefiro eu mesmo decidir quando irei aplicar um filtro com esse "efeito". Creio que o contrário não seja possível (Maratz entregar fidelidade). Por favor, fique à vontade para corrigir-me, caso eu tenha dito besteira.

Marantz ın ses kontol tuşu "source direct" açık kalmış. Marantz ses sonucu ile alakası yok.bu haliyle bile maranz yamahaya eşdeğer olmuş.(marant pm6007 kullaıcısıyım klips 600m2 ile beraber. amfiyi sonuna kadar açsanız bile rahatsız etmiyorve de herhangi bir ses bozulması olmuyor, sadece titreşimler mide bulandırıyor :)

Марантц более глуховат и сдержан что отнюдь не говорит что он плох. А Ямаха ...вот он знаменитый фирменный песочек на верхах, соответственно он звонче. Ну немогу я голосовать против Ямахи,много лет уже пользуюсь Ямаховской продукцией. В планах обновить парк аудио тоже подумываю о 501 усилителе. Но и Марантц мне тоже нравится,я бы при возможности купил его и поставил в спальне а Ямаху в зале. Вот такой расклад.
